2.1 Talisman League Guide for Cheap Permacurse Dual RF Totems for Hardcore/Softcore -Atziri Viable!
Have you tried linking a 20quality cast on death to it? There was a snapshot bug a while ago with RF that you could get insane aoe with it, idk if totems are 'casted' so maybe could work. Nice build overall!

" Oh I'm not quite sure what you mean by that? Do you mean it will recast the totem after each totem dies? Surely that seems like a major bug... But I must confess I know nothing about Cast on Death I have never played around with it lol. And thank you ^^ |

To anyone thinking about any sort of "cast on" mechanic with totems, it does not work.
You place totems, you do not cast them as a spell anymore this was changed in 2.0 |

Loving this concept, here's my take on things;
My current tree

I found that the templar set up gives a better pathing structure, and potential to really kick ass quickly.
My Gear
So much damage. I'm having few survivability issues, thanks to phase run activating on hit (so damn nice), as well as my philosophy of "throw totem, run away, collect loot." I'm currently able to easily clear tier 8 maps (and have cleared a few 10's, just haven't been able to sustain that level yet), with the only mod I'm not running being blood magic. There's a couple of gameplay tweaks I've been using with this build, and I thought I'd share them with everyone here. Firstly, 3 curses is neat; I'm not having damage issues, so running flamability, ele weakness, and temp chains. I used to use vulnerability, but I found ele weakness was a better DPS aura. Secondly, I'm using searing bond. I didn't see much mention of it in this thread, but with the recent changes, it's a free totem. I've got 66 mana free on my build (Blasphemy, 2 curses, and a purity of fire), so I can cast both Temp chains and searing bond. While searing isn't a huge DPS booster, it IS handy against bosses and mobs that like to run around. It also allows you to be more active, and I enjoy that in a build; the more to do, the more fun I have. Feel free to ask any questions about my choices, I'll be happy to answer. Thanks again Thrax, great build concept, and I appreciate the time you took to write up the guide! Hey Redius thanks for enjoying the build :)
Here's a few things of note to mention for your tree compared to the one I have used that arnt as obvious straight away but are the reasons for why I chose Scion and pathed as I did. Your tree has less strength around the best spire of stone jewel socket just above the notable Devotion, which mean which means less %totem life can be gained from that spot. Totem life=increasing the base damage of our DPS skill so it is FAR superior then just getting increased damage modifiers. You have not taken the keystone Whispers of Doom or curse effectiveness near the Scion life wheel, meaning curses that I use have 30% increased effect. This translates to flammability removing 55% instead of 44% of their fire resistance, It also causes Vulnerability to make them take 44% not 33% MORE damage from Damage over time effects. (This is because vulnerability is applied to the mobs damage taken value and not your damage increased value, essentially making it a more multiplier) Which also makes the combo of flam and vuln superior to the combo of flam and elemental weakness by a significant margin on everything but creatures wtih very high fire resistance. As a side note it also makes Enfeeble and Temporal chains a ridiculously strong combo for doing more rippy mad mod combinations. How are you running 3 curses btw without whispers of doom? I see your Windscreams but no Deodre's Damning or a +1curse amy so I'm a bit confused ^^ The reason I dont have searing bond in my build is because CWDT-Immortal call is a superior option in my opinion. It prevents being shotgunned by physical attacks or spells so greatly increases your survivability. This build most definetly does not lack in the DPS area so the bonus 4ishk damage that searing bond provides is negligible when mob packs should be dead in under 1-2 seconds, which usually means by the time you cast searing totem the pack is dead and you could have just kept running :) You are right though that it will increase your damage V bosses but not enough to justify the minimum of 2 sockets needed to use it and 3 if you want to see any meaningful damage out of it (Searing bond-blood magic-Burning damage) Hope that clears up why I made my choices one final thing is the build is made in HC and designed to be map viable for HC so that is why I have made my choices. For SC your more offensivly orientated so I can understand your choices ^^. I would actually recommend grabing a soul mantle and putting your own spell totem in it while running some warding flasks. the 50% totem life is huge when you usually cap out at around 120ish% after jewels and tree is taken into account. All that aside im glad your enjoying the build and hope you continue to do so! :) Regards, Thraxeus. Last edited by Thraxeus#2046 on Dec 31, 2015, 12:11:37 AM

Will This rings "increased burning damage" mod increase my damage enough to make it worth using them?
|
|
" No not at all, it an ok-ish stopgap if you find it/till mid cruel but a rare ring with life and resistances is much much better by the end of cruel, the burning damage is negligible to be honest. Regards, Thraxeus. |
