Has any testing been done with?


Is the ES loss too great coming from a vertex? in a 1500 int build, the 12% increased intelligence nets us 180 intel.

Hard to say, vertex gives around 1500-2000 ES.

Will 40% reduced Light Radius also reduce it with arcane vision ?

right, i currently run a vertex and just got my hands on this black sun's. If no one has done any testing, i will look into it when i get home from work.

Hey man yeah I put one on for a bit. Didn't feel comfortable enough mapping with it on though as the ES drop is just too much. I bought a high rolled Vertex so swapping drops way too much survivability.

Yes you still suffer the drop in light radius
How does full fire conversion (Cold to Fire Gem for Icestorm) and Avatar of Fire work in combination with Herald of Ice?

Does the damage get applied to the mainskill, and then converted to 100% of fire dmg, or only 50% of it?
Also, how does quality affect it in this case?

Heralds, auras, flat damage from gear is all applied to the spell first. Then all conversions and %increased spell damage modifiers are applied to every part of that damage.Its pretty generous about giving conversions and increases to everything and in the way that means that both the fire damage and cold damage boosts get applied.

the quality bonus of herald of ice is global. 15% increased cold damage to anything and everything (even not spells) while you have the herald active.

I've tried both, and i prefer the fire version. More damage and less mana cost of icestorm.
You don't freeze anymore but you chill + temporal chains.

Hey WaffleT, I might have found a tiny update for your "final" tree...

Not sure if it is worth it for you, but you could get Storm Weaver (which is 43% colddmg), instead of Retribution and Amplify.

Like this:



It's basically

43% colddmg
20 %Manareg
1 Skillpoint (Which 12%spelldmg at witchstart for example, or just 10INT)

VS

16% Increased AoE
8% Areadamage
14% Spelldamage
5% Castspeed
10 INT (which is basically the 1 Skillpoint you'd gain from going Storm Weaver)


IMO the AoE node is worse than the Storm Weaver nodes, what do you think?
