 Hurray, I'm all for buffs to melee builds. A 25% damage reduction, coupled with this:

to reduce critical damage taken should do nicely to help the poor neglected melee build.

Hmmm. I guess this upcoming support gem will have to replace Faster Attacks in my Leap Slam + Curse on Hit 4L, especially since it sounds like I'll need the Fortify mechanic if CwDT + Enduring Cry is going away. Not sure how I feel about all this. Something doesn't feel right, but I'm hopeful.

Also, Vigilant Strike + Melee Splash...

How will Vigilant Strike function when dual wielding?

Some love to axes??? Getting onslaught and the highest % phys dmg passives is already really good... Axes currently are the best 2H weapons so far...

25% reduction is by far not enough to survive phys burst dmg that currently can instakill you with 6-7k life.

And removing cwdt+ec+ic for another mandatory mechanic... does this make sense? I'd prefer the old setup anyway as most dangerous things are big extra damage devourer and rhoa/shieldcharge packs and 25% reduction is nothing compared to the dmg a devourer pack does to you...

The skill per se is nice I guess, but not sure why you want to consume endurance charges for damage reduction when they already give damage reduction...

There's to much hype before we see all meta changes.

You have to Hit first, before you'll get a Fortify buff. That won't save you in most one shot situations. On another hand, i don't play melee, so can't judge it.

Maybe there will be combo spells, like high str melee only Herald Of Fort. On Fortify buff expiration, gain Molten Shell like buff, that expires when you perform attack or take specific amount of damage.

Great new mechanic, that's really going to help melee builds get on par with range.
Can feel that this skill will be broken with endu cry / daresso's defiance / Warlord mark and herald of Ash prolif.

Why? Enduring cry is becoming self-cast-only, supposedly, so that'll be a slower build than, you know, any other burn prolif out there right now.
