Feedback / MoM + duelist

I was opposed to it too, before I did my Ungil's ST CoC in Domination. Again, didn't make it far. 2.5 / 4 months I spent unable to connect to the patching server; actually same league and reason I didn't finish my EV/ES/Acro MoM concept (plus rerolling for coc.. altoholic ^-^), but I beat Merciless Piety with 900 life, and started mapping with 1.1k (or 1.2?), and only died at Kole and Dominus due to desync and lag respectively. She just never got hit, and that made me suuuuuper lazy when gearing up.

It was extremely effective then, and I reckon still fairly effective now even in spite of the block nerf. Just a slight bit of shuffling gear around (e.g., Atziri's Step + Rumi's instead of actually speccing spellblock).

Edit: But enough derailing Boem's thread ^-^ IMO this is actually valuable feedback and I don't want to muddle his efforts for vain conversation ;)

900 life with how much mom? Seems low but probably would be way higher now with health buff. I like your concept...but two/three hits in a row....I'm bad with RNG in this game:)

The big difference imo between something like for instance LC defensive form is that it is exclusive to physical hits. (base-line defense)

While MoM has the potential to reduce all inflicted damage outside of DoTs.

Sure you get lightning resistance if specced appropriately for it, but then your investment is going up and your limitations increase. A base-line LC works wonders vs physical damage, but that's where it ends.

And i must agree with CanHasPants, MoM seems very adventitious for an evasion based build even more so if you neglect EB, since phase acro can be attained at no downsides.

A quick note on MoM do, it becomes quite superb in a team environment. The not having aura's part is rendered non-existent and if you have an incinerator in your party for instance with a lvl 20 clarity, shit really starts to get pumped to high value's, making you a solid front-liner tank in party's imo.

The one thing i would really like to see and have repeated multiple times in this thread, is a form of MoM for the duelist that differentiates itself from the MoM on CoD.

To be more accurate an MoM based on mana leach instead of regenerative ability's. It is fairly obvious the top side holds 90% of the mana based regen nodes and the bottom side is very lacking in it. So making the MoM near duelist have some additional nodes that influence mana leach rates and even add some might make this a solid defensive form for duelist's.

I would like to see MoM become a valid option for the bottom side of the tree instead of an easy fix for

"it can't be near eldritch battery"

I want to see it become an asset to the overall tree instead of a thorn/noobtrap in it.

LC allows you to be IMMUNE to elemental and 40% phy (30% now) is always on. I'll take immunity on 99% of game damage and 40% guaranteed phys over 30-40% sometimes absorbed if RNG goes your way. I'll take always being able to spam with no OOM issues. Also even if you dont have 100% resits wearing LC You can face tank palace dom and dps/health return him down. Can't with CoD without super high spell dodge/block.
Cod can never approach ele immunity because you cant run 23 empowered purites because you need free mana.

This is not about becoming immortal or becoming elemental immune '-.-

This thread is about talking about MoM and how it can serve to be an interesting mechanic in the down-side of the passive tree.

I have made chars like you describe, running around with CoC + RF with 1% life regen in the tree and 108% fire resistance (old tree)/98% lightning and X cold (because fuck cold resist in old patches/game lel) i am glad GGG is trying there best to stop these builds from happening because it is retarded to begin with.

The game is designed to kill you, MoM fits in that theme, being immortal does not.

Well you are not immortal. Flasks are dependent in getting u there and they expire and require some reaction much like moving away from say dom smash. Second you incur a huge penalty DPS wise getting there, at least today with elemental adaption gone and +2 gone from maru area. Must take like aura buffs and innerforces and run 23 purties. Must run saffels which u couldnt do being 2Hdr. So at best you'd see is 96% which is still very dangerous. Like a couple storm calls from atziri would kill you so you have to move. So yeah I like idea of near immortal with my 160 pings and i move and nothing happens or lightning warp and stay on same spot but you cant be:(

Anyway I like the idea of eva/mom but it's not as surefire is all as LC + overmax res.

(put this character on the burner a bit for the time being since i enjoy 120% + maps at high lvl and this char has some difficulty's running these even with all the tricks i am using :o))
