A Closer Look at the New Passive Tree!

" Please elaborate on why you feel this way. I've made it my personal mission to ensure Shadow 1.2.0 is worth the wait, and it's been one hell of a wait. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. |

" It's pretty hard to judge but the main difference is: - Need to go through spell power if pathing from above which only affects spell builds. If you don't go below and grab the relocated haste then it takes 4 points to get assassination instead of the current 3. I hate to judge on things not released yet. A change in efficiency in one specific path is not something that should be commented on, until the full changes are shown. Edit: I notice there is 1 less int node leading to assassination since it branches off where minddrinker used to be located. That means there is no change in efficiency if coming from the witch direction. If coming from ranger then it's a big improvement due to easy access to haste and possibly less points used. On the current Live build, it takes 13 points to get Assassination from below, 12 from above.
Going by what has been shown in this teaser shot, the devs are aiming for as much balance between the two branches as possible. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

13 points from ranger start and 12 points from witch start? If that's what you mean then it's a substantial increase in efficiency.

Nope, talking specifically about Shadow progression.
If Assassination becomes a bit harder for other classes to get, eh, not really my concern. Taking Assassination as anything but a Shadow is technically off-classing, since it's part of his starting area, and shouldn't be convenient. Doable, yes. Effective, sure, in some cases. But not a given. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. Amazing, thanks for compiling the image.
It's nice that the curse keystones are finally being moved to more accessible areas of the tree. |
|
" It also helps that they are now notables, because they didn't really fit the nature of a keystone, since there is no real tradeback, you just get them. Although from the Looks Whispers of Doom seems to be doing the same since it looks the same, but the other node he named Hexmaster is either recolored or might do something else. Maybe we get Curse-Cast Speed and Curse-Duration which would make it a bit strange if you have to skill Curse-Duration to get to Hexmaster. So either those are Curse-Effect or instead of Hexmaster we get a notable that increases the efficiency of Curses and Hexmaster is gone entirely. My only concern still is the witch-start with getting to chose either Spelldamage or Energy-Shield as starting options, which means a Life-Based summoner seems to be off the table for a witch and is likely better done as a scion (Exspecially since Lord of the Death seems to be more accessible from outside the Witch-Tree then before). |

Static blows moved pretty far away from the templar?!
