[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
" Wow nice! Anyways just cleared my first 82 map (Abyss) and it came with a bonus 82 Precinct map from Zana! Damage output and HP of these mobs is definitely very high but nothing that felt too dangerous - completed deathless. Sadly, only awful map drops :( Kaom is the boss of Abyss and is EZ mode faceroll. Also the XP you get from 82 maps is INSANE. I got a little over 1% XP per map at level 99... that's like 3x the XP I would get normally from running 78s... OK well I think I'm about ready to settle in on my build as final. Just did a double beyond Excavation map (level 80), an ele reflect Maze map (81) and an Onslaughted Excavation (80) which also had +47% monster life and +29% monster damage. All deathless and not particularly dangerous... pretty easy stuff.
About to attempt Palace Dominus (81) which is always scary... like 90% of my RIPs leveling from 90-99 were to Palace Dom because I always underestimate how much damage he does. and yup... i'm a retard against him and ALWAYS let myself get caught by his touch of god... RIP So I think that this build is going to more or less be capable of everything except: 1) Maps which have both -max and elemental reflect 2) Any bosses which simply are mechanically impossible or overtuned (e.g. Village Ruin and likely map Malachai, Palace Dominus if you're retarded like me and always let him hit you with touch of god... maybe some others I've not yet faced) 3) Maybe Uber? I have no idea if Uber will be doable now or not, and I hate the Atziri design so don't care to test. In the most difficult combinations of mods on high level maps, no doubt there will be other mod combos which can lead to dangerous situations and deaths, but the build is feeling really, really good so far to me. I did wind up trading in Celestial Judgment to pick up the flask nodes, and I think I'm going to keep it that way. The damage output on these maps is so incredibly high that I think they are more help than a ~5% damage boost and 2% penetration. Will have videos up in a day or so once they're all processed and uploaded. I've been looking at my tree some more and I think I might have something interesting to try out with it, though it's going to require an Intuitive Leap gem, and those aren't exactly common or cheap at the moment. :\ However, if it works out, I might be able to get more than a few extra Endurance Charges and get closer to the older IC times that I'm used to, but it's gonna take some testing to see if I can actually generate and hold that many ECs at once.

" That would be great. If we can consistently hit 4EC and 4PC before each discharge, that would be a big boost to discharge. Played around with that previously but it seemed like it was only hitting 4 EC/PC occasionally. |

I've run Village Ruin 3 times now and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with the rain of arrows guy, I'm never snared for too long and he doesn't even really run away. What I did find out though is that his beast (the other guy) gets enraged once the rain of arrower dies and man, that thing hits for a shit ton! I think I got almost two shot by it.
E: Yup, confirmed, ran my 4th village ruin and always I've killed the rain of arrower first, which made it a lot easier, now I killed the beast first and cant kill the arrow guy, lol. Last edited by Jyron#0232 on Jul 20, 2015, 12:58:29 AM

" I noticed a spot right near Templar where Faith and Steel, Devotion, and EC+PC are, that is a very, very efficient jewel socket for intuitive leap. |

Now that I have cleared the Abyss map (Kaom) and the Colosseum Map (Daresso) without any trouble, I can safely say that I too am close to settling my final build variation. However, there is one more non dual-wield variation I have been waiting to try out. Basically, the idea I had was to utilize cyclone in the vertex as the main skill. Cyclone is basically one of the best attacks skills right now due to its effectiveness for AOE and single target clearing. The 4 link would be: 1/20 Cyclone, 21/20 Faster Attacks, 21/20 Reduced Mana and ?/? Fortify. With the vertex's 50% reduced skill mana cost for socketed gems and a 21/20 reduced mana's 40% reduced skill mana cost, the level 21 cyclone setup will cost 1 mana. With LGoH from jewels alone, I can easily sustain the skill usage with vaal pact. I'll make a quick update after testing. |
