[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
I'd expect Uber to be doable but probably riskier than before and Uber deathless might be tricky whereas before it wasn't very difficult. Likely you just have to play more skillfully than you did before i.e. less margin for player error.
All the physical damage from the Trio is, as always, likely to be the biggest challenge, since the Atziri fight itself is mostly about knowing which mirror phase to attack and not getting hit by the flameblasts/storm calls. I agree, that Uber will probably will be doable.
The first few Uber attempt will probably have a few deaths, as Tackle mentioned, since the margin for error is much lower. Face tanking will not cut it in most cases. Familiarizing the Atziri Phases, the right flasking methods and the right method of approach will probably be essential to a deathless run. Last edited by iSo1iD#4681 on Jul 20, 2015, 9:39:26 AM

I'm taking Voll (lvl 80 Wasteland map boss) off my scary boss list. Just use Lightning Strike and kite him. Just beat him when he was hasted and I was triple cursed (vulnerability/temp chains/enfeeble) with no problems.

" Now that my shav's is properly colored I've been running Fortify along with LS. I've got to say that I am no longer seeing any inconsistency with getting Fortify to proc. I run into a room/area, LS attack in place, lightning bolts, arcs, discharges go crazy, Fortify procs and stays at max duration until I stop attacking or everything is dead. I'm very pleased I switched to this setup and am glad to be able to use it well with LS. I feel much more tanky but I also have not yet done any real high level maps yet. I should also note that I am running 20/20 AA as well. |

Food for thought: the passive tree optimization is going to look different for legacy vs new Mjolner.
With legacy Mjolner, picking up +power charge and +endurance charge nodes is an inefficient use of passive points, since due to 50% discharge chance, you rarely get above 3 charges. However, with the new Mjolner's 30% proc chance, a 4th power charge and 4th endurance charge are almost mandatory additions to the build. A side effect of this is that it might be more worth investing into Potency of Will (the +skill duration nodes northwest of Scion wheel) on a legacy mjolner build since it will then be fairly easy to have permanent IC up... something which is presently incredibly difficult/impossible to do with new Mjolner. Would be very interesting for anyone with a new Mjolner to test this out against a dangerous phys boss like 78 Academy and see if new mjolner actually feels safer than legacy, despite the damage nerfs. I agree with that, Tackle. I still haven't gotten an IL jewel, but I have been messing around with the offline skill tree planner and thinking it might be possible to adjust my current build around to get the Potency of Will cluster to extend the IC time a bit from it. Should still have enough life regen to use my abilities and it's also dropping the whole life/ES wheel and the 'Energy From Within' jewel that goes along with it. However, by the looks of it, I can pick up a little more ES from the tree and two additional jewel sockets so that should make up for the loss at least a bit. That and still trying to optimize my rare ring a bit as Dexterity isn't an issue any longer so I'd like to have another suffix open for a resist or what not.
...This is really the one reason I hate trying to test this stuff...lack of stuff on poe.goods, lack of people with stuff I want that are online to sell, and just in general WAY TOO EXPENSIVE! :p |

Yup, between crafting jewels, using regrets, and buying enlighten gems (in particular that level 4 enlighten...) the 2.0 update cost me somewhere around 60-70 exalts... and I didn't even change any of my gear pieces...
I'm close to getting ready to write up a build guide. I'm still convinced that this is the most well rounded mapping build that you can put together for between 150 and 300 exalts total. It can do basically everything that mirror gear builds can do, just slower, but it can GG on the cost of a single piece of mirrored gear. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am seeing two main variations that will need to be discussed for the guide: - Vaal Pact vs Regen - 6L for auras vs 6L for main attack I'm going to put together suggested gear/gem/tree combinations for different character levels and gear, partly because I don't think my own variant will be very good for anyone below level 90 or below 8K ES. My build is tuned around having 21/20 gems in Mjolner, very good gear, and being level 93+ The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard Last edited by tackle70#1293 on Jul 21, 2015, 10:55:31 AM

That seems to be about right. I'll eventually have to try and dabble into a life variant since that can run Blood Rage given what nodes will likely be taken and the gear setup being much different. Granted, that won't be as potent as the LL build, but it's still an option for people who want something a bit more...budget friendly from a certain point of view.

Honestly I think the budget way to do this build is just a 4L solaris lorica and still go low life blood magic. Should still be able to get something like 5-6K ES on a budget with Solaris which will still be fine for a lot of the content in endgame.
