Frost-fire Crit barrage [1.1.1] by Dream_scythe [videos]

Hey Dreamscythe,

In 1.1, fireball and barrage both seem to be buffed late game. Also, many spell/elemental nodes have been increased, but some crit nodes have been nerfed. How viable do you think a build similar to this will be in the new ambush hardcore league?

EDIT: For the ones curious, the exact passive changes with the exact same build in 1.1 are as follow:

+10% spelldamage
-10% critical strike multiplier for spells

-32% maximum life
+2 passive points free (scion health nodes have all been nerfed and two have been removed, so opens up new passive points)

I just watched in the internet what would be the price to buy the items you wear. It seems to that they are expensive. I think i would have enough currency for a 5l vaal's protecotor, form the gems i have the most important. How expensive would the rest of the items at least be that the build works?

I wont know until the patch, but with the two extra points I can get 2 life node equaling 20%. I will lose a bit of health, but my damage will go up with the barrage buff (no more reduced attack speed means huge attack speed buff).

I am not sure at this point if I would recommend this build for hardcore, however, once I upgrade my amulet to get fire resist, I will no longer require Purity of fire, and with the attack speed buff, I may turn off haste. This would free up my mana pool to be used solely for the Mind over Matter passive and drastically improve the suitability. Until I try this out, I dont have a definite answer.

The only expensive items are: the 6L volls and Headhunter. You do not need headhunter, any belt will work fine. HH is just a luxury item which I got before the price sky rocketed.
5L volls would mean no Arc skill gem.

If you want life leach without berek's grip ring, you will need a 6L volls.

All my other items arent too expensive, just make sure you get your life and resists up.

A 6l Vools is definetly too expensive for me. Why is the Barrage gem in the vool? i think the Barrage attack is just used to get a crit and then the cast when damage gem is activated so that FIREBALL and so one are casted, or am i wrong?

uh, your very wrong.

Cast on damage gem has nothing to do with this build offensively.

Cast on crit is what casts fireball, ice spear and arc.

But i don't understand why the barrage has to be in the vool. Its only lvl 2 and so i think it doesn't make big damage. If i could put the barrage in another item a 5l Vool would be enough.

I don't think you understand how this gem works. Cast on Crit gem supports barrage. If u remove barrage, u dont get to cast when u crit.
