Nemesis One Week Race
I'm so shocked that a competitive event doesn't offer a "personal best" prize for everyone who competes.
Buy the ticket, take the ride. Last edited by p0t#2885 on Dec 28, 2013, 9:07:37 AM

I love the arguments of people saying in real life the best also only win for the top prizes. That's true but the best also have their own seperate leagues. If you want to compare it to real life like you all so much do here's a comparison.
This is having formule 1 race drivers compete with the basic racers still in their karts. |

is account sharing considered legit for this kind of race ?

You should do a one week race with Domination as the parent league. I think more people play Domination than Nemesis, lot of us would be interested.

" That's a terrible analogy. It implies that good players automatically get better items or more currency. Which is complete nonsense. Everyone is driving the same car in this race, the only difference is how good you are at driving the car. Of course time is a factor aswell, but you don't do the 24h of Le Mans race either, if you have to leave after 6 hours. #1 Victim of Murphy's Law.

Count me in. I won't be a top player. I'll get maybe 12 hours max out of a character. Its always fun starting a new character though and I have a plan for this one!

I don't object to the prize structure on a conceptual level... but it does mean I won't be competing.
I know I'm not good enough to get into the top 40, so I'd rather spend my time in the real Nemesis league working on my ranger there. If I want to do a 1 week test sometime to see how well I can do, I can do that anytime. |

I am bemused at the number of players saying GGG's timing is standing in the way of their greatness. I am retired and 24/7 can do as I please. But by most standards I just suck at the game. I am happy just to enjoy playing it, not winning. Before I hear the critics..... I will never excel due to a handicap. I live with my limits, but obviously some people can't. Some people with all the time in the world won't make the top.
I like the idea of personal best. It's a perfect enticement for perennial noobs. Also, the idea of grading the races as occurs in r/l. Races with class limits such as novice, intermediate, expert, and open. This would definitely attract more players, and solve the problem of spreading the prizes. And for the record, whoever at GGG that set the prizes for this week race had too much eggnog. |

Well the prices are always just useless bling except for the league races. I for one think it makes perfect sense and will be participating with no hope of a top 40 finish because you know, playing the game is fun or I wouldn't be here in the first place.

" Well ok, but then expert would have to get the most and best prizes and novice would have to get the worst and alot less of them. Otherwise there would be no point in being better really. You would be competing with better players for the same prizes worse players would be competing for in their own league. That seems totally unfair. I mean seriously why should someone who can only hit lvl 21 in 2 hours be able to win the same quality and quantity of prizes than someone who is much better and can hit 35 in 2 hours? That doesn't make any sense and people keep making exactly that argument. And in any case, this race is an exception, in general races are rewarding for everyone (granted there are some problems still, but it's not totally pointless for bad players to compete), with different level tiers and so on (which is conceptually not much different from the system you are proposing here). This race is pretty much a mid-season fun-event and thus offers alot less prizes for the masses. And one thing that actually pissed me off about your post is that you concede that you are handicapped (sorry to hear that) and thus do not really care about the reward structure of the race but in your last sentence insult the person responsible for the reward structure you apparently don't even care about. How hypocritical and disingenous is that? #1 Victim of Murphy's Law. Last edited by SlixSC#6287 on Dec 28, 2013, 8:48:58 PM
