Hardcore Character Restoration after 1.0.1 Carrion Queen Bug

Heh
Dunno why people have to QQ about every single thing in this game recently. Its pathetic in my opinion. I felt one of those carrions on cruel difficulty earlier in slums, wanted to keep relevelling progressing so I took the chance despite the message. Luckily I didn't bump into any rares but a white one hit me and it wasn't particularly pleasant.

I think it is good that GGG have done this on a unsuspected death due to game mechanics. I don't see how people can suddenly start calling out about their reasons of death as being legitimate reasoning to have characters restored and that what GGG has done is wrong/unjustified here. I think the sheer amount of related deaths, compared to a couple of bug-related deaths means that GGG were better to do something in this scenario, imagine if it was you in this situation. No credibility is lost here in my eyes.

How about a reverse of the CwDT gem?

did you ever play this game before CoDT was in the game? if so the nerf shouldn't be that big of deal

Same with others. I think this is a horrible precendent, and contradicts prior stated game views. Would like to see information on what circumstances can get around "under no circumstances"

Please just.. dont care ok? It was a bug, HORRIBLE bug.

For all those who don't agree with restores in extremely rare cases imagine this happens to you like it did to us:

You login and load up your character.
You enter a zone.
You walk 10 feet and die.

It's not as if connection issues or desync killed our characters. People reported getting 1 shot from off the screen lol.

I don't care either way if they want to restore the characters, what i do care about is that given the stated long standing guidelines and the inability of may players to grasp reason, they have opened themselves up to a never ending shit storm that'll waste time and money.

Though they understand and accept this and are just going to have to cope with the fallout, as are players that have tickets pending not related to this.

Loading an instance and die while loading was also a horrible bug and GGG only said: Deal with it.
Any1 know if the admins will check our posts here? if you're an admin and read this, pls check through all posts! i have the same problem as another guy, we deleted our old characters etc, they have not been restored and in my case i have the same name as my other char on a new char.
Another poor, unfathomably random reversal of policy, another terrible precedent set.

You guys seem to have really lost your way.

Really curious as to how they started hitting for so much in the first place, where you guys testing out buffing them? Also hope everyone who deleted there char and rerolled can get there chars back as well. I know most of the time that's what I do because I like the names.

Anyone who's played ARPGs with permadeath for a few years (or even months, really) probably knows this feeling. Mostly due to lag, but other factors out of our control as well. It's just part of hardcore. Sometimes you just have bad luck or other factors outside of the game that are completely outside of your control, and your level 99 character with all the uber gear is lying facedown in the grass. That's just hardcore. That's the essence of hardcore. Sometimes bad things happen to good players. Even to the best top 1% players.

Hardcore was never promised as a mode where you only lose your character if you mess up, or you aren't skilled enough. It's a brutal, unforgiving mode where death, ANY death, is supposed to be final, irreversible, no bargains, no takebacks, no mercy. To go back on that is to disregard what hardcore means.

I understand that GGG's heart is in the right place. Obviously, it sucks to lose your character when you didn't do anything wrong, and I'm sure they felt guilty especially considering it was a bug so close to the official game release. But in my opinion, it's a mistake, and it only tells me that the people in charge don't get the point of hardcore.
