Enemy Health Bars Above Head
I would certainly enjoy seeing this as an option and making it easier to see what enemy is at what health level without having to try and mouse over them and constantly shift my eyes to the top of the screen.

Doesn't even need to be fancy tbh...even something like this

Exactly. I want health bars. Even though many dont, its moot. It should be an option. No one is forced to use them, but we should have the choice at the very least.

" This is true only if the devs have infinite time. The reason why "just add an option" isn't unanimously supported is that for the people that will always leave the option off, it's dev time that was wasted when it could have been spent on more important things like new content or UI changes in other places. In the end, the devs are going to spend their time where they themselves feel it benefits their interests (either financially or otherwise). And it's not like this is a first-time suggestion; hell, this thread is almost a year and a half old. |

" True that , must be about 10-15 of these threads i have posted in, let alone how many i havent. " As someone with a lil hands on experience in the industry ... this isnt true. It would not take an abnormal amount of time at all to implement this "option". Its simplistic at best. I do however agree, the devs will do what they want, as they want. GGG - Why you no? There is a lot of stuff we've been waiting on for a long time. Most of them ( like this ) are small cosmetic, or not overly game impacting.
I believe the term GGG have used is 'quality of life' stuff. They are plugging away at stability and content right now. As they should. "I would have listened... I would have understood!" - Scion

" Agreed. Its fairly apparent with an entire new act about to unfold in beta, they have been hard at work on other things. This works for me. I do however long the day these *quality of life* features b egin to appear. Games just so damn good :D Cheers. GGG - Why you no?

Please not. I already explained in another thread why i think this is a bad idea.
Anyway, i don't know of any other game in this genre that has (or needs) something like this implemented, except for only one game (you all know which one), and that one should really not be considered an appropriate example. Last edited by Xorim#4799 on Jan 3, 2013, 10:36:20 AM

Well, IF this were to be added, I'm certain it would be an option that would be off by default. Chris mentioned in an interview ( I think it was the recent Kripprian one ) that he wasn't a fan of how health bars looked, and that they covered up the visuals the GGG team have worked so hard on. However, if a lot of people want it, it might be added. If it is off by default, it doesn't really bother me. Just so long as I can have it off, I'm happy. Shouldn't really bother you either, if it is just something that other people like and you don't. I mean it isn't taking a priority of work away from what is important. So it shouldn't really be a big deal, right?

About covering up the visuals, it can't be any worst than item names on the ground in party play :-p
The added benefit of health bars, to me, is it highlights monsters that can be sometimes hard to see in the dark of against the background. |
