1.0.0 Balance Changes

Please stop trying to make workarounds and band aids.

They don't work.

This approach bring up multitudes of unintended consequences, which then require further band aids.

I'll take one change to illustrate, but all of the changes I see are much the same line of thinking.

Socket Fusing and Level 40-55 Quest Rewards

These two topics may not appear related, but we're improving both as the result of a specific observation: some players have a very tough time after around level 40 and often fail to get to the end-game.

While it's completely intentional that poor character builds should struggle (to encourage people to plan a better character), we found that many players were giving up because their item progression was stalling their progress. We're making the following changes to address this:
It's approximately 233% easier to obtain four linked sockets.
It's approximately 25% easier to obtain five linked sockets.
Quest rewards for Cruel difficulty onwards have been improved so that you receive more rare items as rewards.

We're specifically targeting these two areas because we believe that giving people easier access to (the relatively mandatory) four linked sockets and supplementing their progression with more random rares will help them keep up with the harsh character progression demands that these difficulties impose. We've purposefully picked changes that don't interfere with the end-game. Note that even after these increases, you may still get junk from quests rewards and take quite a few Orbs of Fusing to roll the sockets you want!

Ok, I agree there is a gear progression issue around these levels.

I have a lot of gear in my stash, several good pieces in the 30's, and then not again until the mid 50's or so. (please don't post your ok gear between 35 and 55, I know there is some, but not equivalent to before and after that range in either strength or availability)

So fix the gear progression, don't try to patch on fusing changes.

The gear mods/ranges are the problem, so improve them.

Instead you are making fusing 4 and 5 link easier, that's not going to fix a piece of poor gear, its still going to be a bad piece of gear, just with links.

Yeah, it will help a little, mostly because it will make the lvl 31 supports more available, but it doesn't address the base problem.

Plus, increasing the odds 5link gear is going to make the good gear before and after even better - it was already better proportionally, now its much more likely to get links besides.

Also, it devalues the 5links many people have spent a good deal to achieve. Same with 4 link, but to a lesser degree.

Not to mention, the people who already have the currency are going to be in even a better position relatively speaking - all across the game.

Yeah, it will make crafters happy - for awhile, until the curve catches up and 5L have little value, then they will be in the exact same boat.

These are the issues I see right off the top, I'm sure there are more.

So, those who already have get more, those who worked hard to get a foot hold get less, and the crappy gear is still crappy gear.

Try to be the person your dog thinks you are.

Still enhancing that party play, GGG? You really must hate solo players don't you.

For me, large part of the game are races and other competitive events, with the changes to two-handed weapons you are pretty much killing class/skill diversity in races altogether. Either completely remove shared ladder and every possible competion be measured only in class itself or start thinking more throughly about your changes to core game and about how they impact competitive enviroment, better yet, design separated leagues with their own balance adjusted for competitive things.
ProjectPT was right.
keep enhancing game :)

Ill be here for years to follow if god allows me to:)

Myonly concern is low level maps.If that maps gets a unique chance of items to be dropped it would be good, otherwise, why not farm new higher level areas?.Thats my only concern, everything else(and auras-stop bitching people.)seems very sweet.

A Big applause for GGG plz :)
Bye bye desync!
I run 7 auras with 20k aoe dps, i just hope ill be able to run my 3 critical auras without gimping my life down enough to need a kaoms..(no unwavering now)
"We have globally altered the diminishing returns values for Increased Item Quantity and Increased Item Rarity so that they are a little less effective. It's not a major change - MF characters will still be quite useful, but will feel less mandatory."

Hell yeah!
I would vote that for President!
Remove the massive difference of MF crap

Boss Runs: We're roughly doubling the rate of item drops from important bosses in Merciless difficulty. We want Vaal, Piety and Dominus runs to be a great way to stock up on rares and Unique items.

Is it only Vaal, Piety and Dominus? What about Merveil?

I would like to second this question... Currently whenever i need alterations or fusings (selling my alteations to buy jewellers and than fusigns at the vendor) i usually go for Merveil farming...

no change to how playing in party is just OP?... infact by making the auras cost more % and the ones that just use mana or life now being % its going to be even more mandatory to party..
