Kotaku unveils Path of Exile's Third Act

Terrible article, but not much of a surprise coming from Kotaku. The user comments do a nice job summing up all that's wrong with the Kotaku reader-base. Very much looking forward to Act Three, though, so it was nice being able to read some new info about it, regardless of the chosen outlet.
"We sold $200,000 of packs in the first long weekend," Wilson said. They're now up to $1.24 million. As of last week, they'd sold 82,240 packs (including 95 $1,000 packages).

Feels so proud to be part of this group and community.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!
Do the 95 Diamond packs exclude people who have dropped 4-5 grand or more in packs or is it 95 separate individuals?

I am sure we will break the 100 Diamond supporters before Open Beta.
Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.

I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_-
This game has great graphics and retains the style of diablo, very dark themed. I played the public weekend stress test and I had to say it was truly an enjoyable game with massive replayability as it locks you into your passive skills. Overall great game and good job GGG, I'll be waiting for my beta key. =)
Would love beta access
Any publicity good publicity? probably...

Judging from myself, a gamer has his own interests, demands and taste, so before playing a game he makes a research and finds out if a game would be interesting to try.

Posting comments based on 2 pictures and few phrases that one isolates from the rest of the text reveals lack of judgement, to say the least(not only for kotaku comments). One that is used to play MMOs with funny cartoonish animals or whatever (and i have no problem with that) can he really state that PoE graphics are bad or out of date? Sometimes i feel like we are talking about different game...
I really hope that GGG sticks with the ideals that they have so far been developing into a game I thoroughly enjoy. It has been quite a long time since I have found a game quite as compelling as PoE.

There is no point in pretending that this particular game will be attractive to a wide audience. I am unsure how to say this without sounding like a pompous a**, but I think online gaming is packed out with a huge crowd of folks who want to play a game where thinking is not a factor.

I do not mind at all that some games cater to that group of people. Everyone should spend their free time doing something they enjoy. I just sincerely hope that PoE doesn't go this route.

After re-reading this post I rather feel like I am being negative towards other sorts of games. I really don't care about other games or people who enjoy those games. I just want my sandbox to continue to be a place to build my castle in. I hope that makes sense ~

Let's not go there, people(or else you'll be calling a lot of active users here on the poe forums names...).
Sweeping Maid
It almost seems like that the common opinion is "cartoonish graphics = good graphics", it doesn't make any sense.

Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild.
I was wandering, after beta your char will be wiped again right?

Exactly. If it isn't wrapped in unicorn and birthday party colors than it's just "sub par graphics". I think a lot of people are on sensory overload these days with bright, catchy colors.

I think PoE has wonderful graphics for a free-to-play model. There is a lot of detail in the game world if only one were to look more closely. Add in its dark, foreboding atmosphere and you've got yourself a nightmare of a world, which is fantastic!

Once open beta begins, all current characters will be reset to level one and all gear (aside from a few select pieces) will be removed from all characters and stashes. The characters themselves will not be deleted though in order to preserve character names for the player who already has them.
