so many idiots - clarification
1) alphas howl was bis for RoA rangers (and prolly LA) before the aura hack, it will now go back to being this as Inner Force is getting a buff, and you cant wear a life helm and have level 22 auras
2) coventant isnt getn nerfed, if it is, fuck it itll make the game harder (for HC) and dictate less dependance on and less commonplace 6+ aura characters (end game OR leveling)
so wake up complainers, these are the facts

Aura fix was a glitch that I am glad they fixed. Auras shouldn't retain bonuses from items after the item has been de-equipped, that IS broken. Its the same thing as putting an 800es chest on, and removing it and still having 800es multiplied by %'s and then using an armor chest with life and stats and resists and whatever else you need.
Facebreaker, on the other hand, I dont know why it needs a 'fix'?? Jealousy I suppose? Its not broken, its on par with crit flicker and cleave and crit cyclone and dual strike, actually substantially less dps than them. A Facebreaker unarmed build CANNOT crit. Also it does substantially less dps than anything else in the game that is considered powerful at endgame, like incinerate full stage, discharge, FP, spork, spear, EK, etc
Why are people so mad other people are doing well? I just dont get it ... stop overdosing on the hate.

You don't seem to get the context. They "GGG" wrote in reddit some while ago in connection with the fan meetup that Facebreaker will be nerfed but to change all Facebreakers would take many hours of server downtime. Once they have reduced that time considerebly, expect Facebreaker to be nerfed.
I don't really care about Facebreaker itself, but about the fact that when it gets nerfed it means that changing all uniques (even the old ones) will be an easy task that doesn't take many hours of downtime. So that's when we can expect all other uniques to be rebalanced, which is what the game really needs.

Before getting mad about the fix (and all upcoming fixes) you should remind yourself that this is a BETA. An important part of a Beta is its inconsistent nature. There may be small changes but also game breaking changes.
More important is the fact that the devs decide what needs to be changed, not you! They decide what's intended and what's not, what's an exploit and what's a game mechanic. I guess they try to strike a balance between what the players want and what they want to be the game like.
You can try to change their mind but in the end it's their decision.
So live with it, cry more or quit.

The way I'm reading it, this change won't affect the mana res of the alpha howl, just the +2, but they are rebuffing inner force so essentially your gaining it right back. the "nerf" is minimal for now.

First of all I want to say that I really love this patch! Removing the howl bug, buffing IF and make flasks no buffs anymore all in one patch is what I call balancing. As much as I hated some of the latest "balancing" (aka melee buffs) this time it feels like real balancing incl. a bugfix that is directly connected to it. Can't wait to see more of this!
Ppl really should stop the qq about the howl fix. Everybody with at least half a brain knew that this fix would come. I never used a howl for that reason so this fix doesn't hurt me at all. Using a bug in a beta is maybe ok but crying because that bug get fixed is just dumb.
