Contents of the 0.11.3 patch
Thank you GGG for your continued improvements on this great game. I feel that the 5/10% death penalty for Cruel and Merciless difficulties is more than fair and I think some of the people complaining around here over 2% are either trying to create drama or just like to complain. They need to realize a good game requires a balance when it comes to difficulty, the base game (softcore standard league) can neither be too hardcore or too casual.
I have a suggestion for players like this that want a overly casual game, give them a casual league. No death penalty, maybe 5-10% better quality drop rates, perhaps allow them to transfer their softcore characters to this league as well (but cannot go back to standard). Give them their casual sandbox if they really want it, I don't oppose this idea and I am willing to bet the majority wouldn't either as it doesn't effect the standard or hardcore games. I look forward to the continued improvements and additions to this game, again thank you. |

The XP penalty was fine as it was. Whenever your character dies, you learn something more about the game, and there is always room to improve. In my opinion, the death penalties aren't even what need to be worked on, but i think 5 and 10 is an okay place to settle.
For people arguing that it should be higher: While I agree it was fine before, I have seen a lot of posts about the change being for 'babies' and 'casuals', and the aggression is just unnecessary. GGG clearly knows it's been a problem, and they aren't trying to cater to casual gamers, as you could obviously see by comparing today's and yesterday's announcements (went from 3/8 to 5/10 in A DAY). GGG is trying to cater to EVERYONE. For people arguing that it should be lower: I gotta say I don't think the penalty should go that low. At the point where your character has made it to merciless, you should be ready for the challenge. It's called 'Merciless' for a reason, and having an xp penalty reduced too much would totally void any challenge. GGG does care though, so quitting the game is not the solution. And for everyone: The hostility isn't really needed. GGG are trying to settle on something that everyone can agree on, so suggesting things for yourself is a better approach than attacking someone else's suggestion. IGN: Scuhr

from what i understand from previous announcements they are going through all the skills and making better or balancing them down. so i think all the ones ppl wish for will be under review soon enough.

Glad to hear about upcoming performance improvements, sometimes I have less Fps then in Crysis 3, and I have a Hexacore System..

" This. The fact that i'm playing Far Cry 3 on max settings with a steady 60 fps and this game drops my system to 10-15 sometimes when people are spamming flame totem/poison arrows/ice shots or whatever is just ridiculous. Also the desync issues will persist forever I am afraid. |
