{3.2.0} Spectral Gods: [Life Based Spectre/Golem Hybrid Summoner | Clear Speed | End Game Bossing]

I guess on paper the CI route is great defensively. I too started a CI summoner but am having the same problems as above two posters. Summoners are mana hungry and having constant upkeep is just as important I guess this boils down to one viable build path for a tanky summoner and that is.

IR , EB, HP summoner (should be fairly easy to gear as well)

EB's ability to stack auras helps a lot defensively. The only thing you'll be missing is a higher effective hp pool with es and the immunity to CI.

hp gives u resistance to stun, freeze,shock and free life regen and steal without needing passives

CI is pretty gear intensive as you need both high es and high mana

Am currently running this on my summoner

hp,ir,eb summoner

* i'll update my guide again to reflect these findings

How do you shock stack if you deal little damage?
stats are:
3099ES (with lvl17 disciplin)
6870armour (with lvl 16 determination (now i cant lvl cause str) and lvl 15 grace (i think i can lvl up 1 lvl more till my dex)
also run purity but my resist sucks.
1064 mana (169 left when auras running)

383 int
104 str (nothing on gear. 3x +30 nodes to make that possible)
124 dex (no dex on gear. all from +10 nodes on the way to IR)

mana regeneration without clarity is 45,5 and thats enough to cast zombies and curse/arc. so no realy need for clarity atm.

my gear is real crappy atm.

here is my build at 77

the helm realy sucks (but i need the mana). the ES on the chest sucks too (its selffound @chruel act2 so not realy worth for crafting). also rings/shield/gloves could be better (need es+mana on it).

farming lunaris atm with that gear/skill without problems (skipp piety)

I guess i should have worded it

"arc isn't your main damage dealer, minions are"

200+ dps(on arc) is enough to stack shocks on 72+ map levels.

I notice your using that unique ammy which greatly improves your mana situation. Without that ammy you will have trouble constantly triple cursing and spamming arc. Also half regen situations is going to be terribly slow =X.

Another thing I like to mention is that MI is completely optional once you start mapping. Dropping MI will greatly enhance your spectre survivability which is the majority of your dps. Unless you want to exploit MI mechanics using

ele-pro, chance to ignite on zombies

@Mattc
cause the ammy dont forget the 25% reduce. It help you to lvl up your red gems :).
and the + mana and % mana help that your mana pool grow up. With a good roll on it mana regn is realy help to play without clarity (or maybe a low lvl one).

How about stuns, freezes, and shocks? Those are my main concerns before going CI.

Stuns are realy dangerous. But if you play carefull it work fine. You have your minions\skells in the front and you get stunned nat that often.

I bet when i have a better chest my energy shield explodes and make everything easy. 3.1K es is not much and i farm lunaris without dying.
Hmm, I guess i'll stick with hp after all. I play more recklessly with my summoner often going near melee range and using enduring cry. Being close to the mob pack really improves your minion ai. Last night I was charging through level 73 maps no problem as my hp flasks and regen + steal was more than enough to keep me alive. I didn't even need to use skeletons which frees up some slots.

My next step is getting a 20% Q shock nova which should spread EE and shocks much more reliably in big pack situations.

So should i switch to the hp build instead? I'm currently lvl 53 and only running clarity with about 400 max mana, don't know how to use purity and all those other auras since mana is also a problem for me. Also this might be a stupid question but if i put in a ir gem into a linked spectre one, does the already summoned spectre get the ir bonus?

@Mattc
how maps work i can tell you in a few days. I have my ci summoner in anarchy league. And i wait with maps cause a friend of mine is not rdy for maps. Thats also the reason why i have such crapgear. Farm farm farm. ;)

@omega
with hp build you need auras too. But there you can skill eb which gave you more mana. One 40% aura (purity?) and a low lvl clarity will work with low mana pool. A low lvl disciplin and a low lvl grace to that too.

If you have enough mana left to cast you skell totem and curse everything is fine.
