In act 5 Oriath Square, which exists BEFORE you kill Avarius, there are mobs called 'Flame Mother' - if you're currently looking at this website's background, she's the woman with some sort of circular container in hands on the very left, to the left of some nun with a cup.

They throw some kind of bouncing fire projectiles, and I remember occasionally using them when leveling one of my attempts at spectre necro, because act3 flame sentinels died to a single hit by then; and I want to say they were damn BRUTAL, obliterating literally everything. Bit later I started using Prayer Guardians before I reached Kitava's heralds, and even though they had similar projectiles and higher lvl, they seemed to deal like half the damage of flame mothers. Unfortunately, after you kill Avarius, it seems that those mobs can't be found anywhere else - I didn't find them in any of the post-Avarius a5 locations, act 10 also seemed to miss them.

If anyone has some friend who is in act 5 and hasn't killed Avarius yet, you can try raising them in his game and then searching for a map to desecrate them as high lvl. I'm not sure what's the matter with them, but they were dealing RIDICULOUS damage in a5.

Found some interesting alternative mobs against Cannibal Fire-Eaters and Templar Scholars. Host Adders and Night Adders which are easily accessible at Northern Forest in Act 7. They seem to have same exact mods, they do fire totem like Cannibal Fire-Eater that repeats several times per cast and shows to have some reasonable damage base. Ran them in a T8 Shaped Channel using Raise+Min Damage+Echo+Ele Focus+GMP and they did well enough for general clear, but I think their boss damage could be better (albeit not terrible). Echo is probably not going to do much since it's off Flame Totem, it SHOULDN'T increase their casts per sec. Then again Multistrike increases attacks on things like Cyclone, and Ice Crash for minions that have those.

also upon researching incinerate it seems like the best gems for temple scholars would be rs minion damage controlled destruction ele focus faster projectiles GMP... swap gmp for pierce for bosses

the reason you wouldnt do spell echo is it doesnt effect incinerate

EDIT:!!!!!!! AFTER testing the temple scholars are squishy af died in t15 boss fight
