" Except in a lot of cases it lets you cheat the gem slot system, gaining extra gems you shouldn't have access to. Before they nerf it I hope they add gem slots to belts + jewelery like the were thinking about doing, as this would help out a bit in balancing it. Also, it completely breaks some uniques, specifically Montgruel's Grasp. Enjoy it like people used to with auras, because I don't see them leaving it as is. |

If its the math from earlier in the thread, current snapshotting and/or passive nodes will let you always surpass what the gem could ever hope to do. The only use I can think of for Minion Damage is if you don't care about what specters your raising and want a general purpose gem.
There are simply better support gems at all times for minions with the right setup to ever choose minion damage. Edit: If they fix minion snapshotting then the gem will become a LOT more useful. Last edited by Moose65#0910 on Oct 29, 2013, 10:08:25 PM

i'm using 3x Evangelist or 2x Evangelist + bm
RS + burning damage + conc effect + IAOE + reduced duration burning damage + conc effect will overwrite each other? | |
Hello, first, thank you for your awesome tip to take those BM'S mobs as spectres, the cleaning speed is great. I'm lvl 67 in Nemesis, and playing support with this build is realy good for my team (dual curse, 3 auras, crowd control, aoe damage).
I would like also to know if it was a good idea to take the 3 increase burning damage nodes in the passive tree? (I don't think it will affect spectres, but who knows...). It could also increase your Burning Damage from your fire traps. I would also like to know what you are doing when you face chaos damage mobs or this new nemesis affix "Storm Herald"? Thank you. |

For evangelists, Burning damage of course does nothing. If your running the BM, Conc does nothing. I would not use conc at all if I thought I was going to run BMs.
I have my Evangelists on a 4 Link and with them I run remote mine > trap > Conc. When I ran BMs I used Minion Life > Increased AoE > Increased Burning damage. If I was going to 5 Link BMs, I would do life > Increased AoE > Minion Res > Increased Burning. Evangelists I would do Remote Mine > Trap > Conc > Increased AoE or Added Fire if you can live with a smaller Bubble. Last edited by Moose65#0910 on Oct 30, 2013, 2:41:30 AM

" I dont understand what snapshotting has to do with anything, really, in terms of damage. even if you're dual wielding perfect midnight bargain and perfect sidhebreath, thats only +75% minion damage. and who dual wields midnight bargains because chober chaber's health bonus is much better ? the tree gives you 9*15= 135% damage you need 187% to break even in remote mine vs quality minion damage, anything below and minion damage wins. |

" You left out some mechanics. Sunblast gives you 40% more damage (Summons linked to trap). Trap nodes give anywhere from 10% to 40% more damage per node, several of them 18%. So only using minion passives + Sunblast I already hit 175%. Any one mine node will push me over 187%. If snapshotting gets fixed, thats at least 55% damage gone from the lost of Sunblast + Sidhebreath. Even then, its still easy to break 187% with a few trap nodes.
