skels are legit, don't hate. for rough fights where resummoning is involved, they're more dps than resummoned zombies

skellies are always underrated...until you see an allies cannot die totem through a small doorway and your minions cant get to it.

before I knew about smoke mine and minion AI changes, thats how I used to focus fire and beat nasty totems. self-casting skellies, cast them on the totem/nasty rare and they take it down ASAP.

Guys .. everyone hear me out.. if you are a 6 L snap shotter .. simply drop Conc Effect and replace it with Inc Duration. Therefor you're evangilist 6 Link would be as follows: Raise Spectre, Inc Duration, Faster Casting, Inc Aoe, Trap (with Sunblast), and Remote Mine.

Not only do you get a much larger bubble, but secondly the "Nerf" is almost none existent at that point.

I still cannot wrap my head around the retarded decision to fuck up summoners with this 'fixing' of the Smoke mine. I mean, either fix the minion ai pathing or give us something to control our minions with... I got online just to see how it feels now without the ability to control my army, and it fucking sucks donkey balls, random number of minions stuck in adjacent corridors or rooms while the fight is going on elsewhere, getting stuck in places, can't make them attack nasty totems anymore... Fuck this crap, I for one ain't logging in again. On the bright side this just saved at least 500eu that my fiance and I planned to spend on tabs and what not.

Trap is just a 20-something % more modifier, the increased trap damage from sunblast doesnt work. Youd be better of replacing that instead of conc effect (keeping inc aoe without conc effect is especially funny, since if your incaoe is 20/20, the bubble is useless because everything is inside of it anyway lol)

more importantly, no one is butthurt about Evas getting nerfed, they honestly had it coming so bad, and we all know it. Theyre still perfectly fine, as you say, with increased duration, and even without it. The thing everyone is riled up about is the SMOKE MINE NERF. I would really like to hear a statement, or see some kind of patch preview in general, where decisions get explained. As it stands, it feels a lot like "Since we cant fix our shitty pathfinding, and also not snapshotting, we just make your only mobility tool not work (even though NO ONE ELSE LITERALLY NO ONE uses it in ANY BUILD, ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, ANY SITUATION!) so your minions die due to our shitty AI and you have to snapshot after every indoor map. Until it becomes to tiresome for you, and you abandon snapshotting. TADAA! SNAPSHOTTING FIXED!"

I have quit this game once already, it was due to a idiotic design decision (which got reversed weeks after I quit lol, the hp nerf in the summer of OB). Lets just hope they make smoke mine work again, they can even remove the raise spectre gem if they want, but what they did to summoners in high levels with the smoke mine nerf (more like removal) is like fixing a cold by sawing the patients head off. Sure summoners cant bubblecheese anymore, but thats irrelevant now that they cant do 2/3rds of the map pool (torture chamber, cells, maze, labyrinth, dungeon, underground sea and river, mine, . . . . . . . . . ) without half their minions dying on the other side of a wall. Trying to run through while getting wailed down by 3 sea witch spawns slowly.

Also Im curious what they plan for when they fix snapshotting. Every Snapshot summoner nerf is way worse for non-snapshotters.

Precisely. I don't care about the Eva Bubble nerf, IncD solves that, Eva's overall needed a nerf anyway imo. As for the Smoke mine, it just DESTROYS any notion of playing the summoner, whoever thought of this 'fix' at GGG is definitely not the sharpest knife in the kitchen. And when it comes to the planned snapshotting 'fix', I think they'll fuck up the summoner class even more, cause without it they would need to add more nodes and gear variations to actually make minions a viable tank/dps option or else the class itself will not only be broken due to Smoke mine 'fix', but it will be ineffective too with wimpy minions being barely able to go through lower tier maps. And of course I doubt they will add more nodes and change/add gear to support summoner diversity = No summoner class... So much for their "freedom to shape your character" marketing ploy.

EDIT: Sadly I doubt that me quitting will make them revert anything back. It was prolly a coincidence in your case, that once you dropped PoE they reverted their 'fix'. Hell, it'd be progressive if anyone meaningful was even reading about the overall feeling of summoners being screwed by these 'fixes'.

You're not the only one who gave up with summoner, there're tons of ppl quit bc of fckn stupid smoke mine fix. Fix their AI first, then remove smoke mine!

I, for example, respecced my summoner witch to a wand build once I was read about the smoke mine change. Didn't even bother to try out the new smoke mine before respccing.
On a lighter note, I had a lot of fun with Arc last night. Chain + Curse on Hit + pick your favorite curse (Vulnerability, for now) is really cool with the new Arc.

I'm in 67-68 maps right now, and have EE, so spamming Arc a few times is enough to give everything -50% cold res and +25% phys damage taken (and possibly Shocked) right as my zombies show up with Hatred et al. Good times. :-)

Anyone else use a combo like this to pass the time while zombies kill things?

(I haven't been hitting high enough content yet for Smoke Mine to have been a necessity - I find that the zombies will prioritize whatever I hit, so if I need a totem or a rare to go down, I just zap it with Arc a few times and they get there after a few seconds.)
