Ok GGG, quick suggestion to get rid of the "I'm a hardcore player and I wanna play Anarchy" issue:

If at the end of Anarchy, character death count = 0, then character is moved to Hardcore instead of Standard.

Edit: The character's inventory should get moved into standard though, to avoid exploits of level 1 characters being given all the loot before the league ends.

nope, i see it as a godsend. and i don't understand how wealth has anything to do with it. These will be useful to rich and poor alike( myself would fall into the poor category).


If you have enough fusings to get back to a 5L, you're never better spending an eternal orb. Each time you spend a fusing to get back to your 5L you have a chance to get a 6L. So the wise option is to spend enough to get from your initial 5L to a new 5L, having the chance to get a 6L on the way. If you don't, getting a 5L first, you resupply your fusings to your initial stock and try again.

If you're poorly stocked in fusings and / or unlucky you want that eternal orb to avoid the whole process to blow in your face. But that's an extra cost with no benefits; an eternal orb cannot grant you a 6L while each fusing as the possibility to do so.

the announcement is really great a lot of work in it from GGG really good job

BUT

i have a somehow really bad feeling that it will be not working like intended

in new patch only limited amount of players will play standard or hardcore from old players ... new players will prolly play standard who knows -> you effectively will divide players into the 4 different leagues and i think it is a huge problem

reading this i completely lost any lust to play in standard league now and i dont think i will play it for upcoming 4 months - because no one will be there

as i wrote above effectively you are with the upcoming changes dividing this game into the 4 completely different pieces which can be quite dangerous and contra productive ...

online games is about playing players together adding 2 more leagues and even i suppose it like the great idea can be dangerous ...

last think i have some sort of problem are the the challenges -> it is really for "no lifers" (without any offence) -> for anyone who has work, family, house and other hobbies then only the computer games it makes not a lot of sense to compete (no skill involved, just investment of pure time to get it)

anyhow great job GGG in working on this IMHO jewel ! I spent already some money on this game and I m pretty much sure you deserve it -> but I m coming to be little sad that or scary it will really shatter the player base and the goal of game itself - 4 different leagues is a lot IMHO

Yup...I've played other games that do not have such an entropy system and have never had any problems with high evasion characters. Now, perhaps with the upcoming changes the entropy system will work a bit better, but then again it might not and evasion may not be the best way to go unless it's Iron Reflexes for bow users that cannot equip a shield and reap the benefits from it. Even excluding ranged characters the entropy system hurts melee as well for survival (DW especially), which is also something I've played a lot of in other games.

Only half of it was being snarky.^^ I didn't check since when you were playing the game but you are a supporter so you would have to be here for a while. And since I don't know if the entropy system was implemented from the start i put the question while being snarky :D I can multitask. xD

So am I the only one who read this as making Kaom's even stronger? I mean, the reason it's so good now is due to the inherent mitigation gained from having a massive life pool. This patch will further increase its strength and value because you'll still reach astronomical amounts of HP while taking even less damage than before.

Otherwise, absolutely geeked about the coming changes! As a primarily melee player who more than excels in the current system, moar power is exciting! New eternal orb sounds pretty awesome too, though I hope they're no more rare than exalteds (ie. mirror rarity) as the only way to 'correctly' utilise them would still be via hoarding orbs prior to attempts at sockets/links/exaltings, making working on backup equip still the more economical approach. Nevertheless, a very exciting orb!

Also, can't wait to see what the new recipe will be. I can only imagine a recipe for fusings as one still doesn't exist while all other orbs (except regrets and exalteds) can be gotten via recipe.

Not sure if this idea has been mentioned, but what if:

In anarchy league if you complete the 4 months without any deaths you go to HC league?

Anarchy league would still be standard in sense that death resurrects in anarchy.

This would just affect toon league disposition after the 4 months is over.
