Come on, i love full evasion builds but this patch make it less viable compared to other ones now.. Did you think about this CHRIS!?
no they become more viable since defenses (if you had bothered reading and thinking hey that includes evasion as well) are getting buffs "all" across the board

reductions to player Life and Energy Shield passive skills
This means that the mana gained from Eldritch Battery will also be nerfed. Is that intended or an oversight?

We've reduced all monster damage and have made corresponding reductions to player Life and Energy Shield passive skills.
So am I the only one who read this as making Kaom's even stronger? I mean, the reason it's so good now is due to the inherent mitigation gained from having a massive life pool. This patch will further increase its strength and value because you'll still reach astronomical amounts of HP while taking even less damage than before.
Otherwise, absolutely geeked about the coming changes! As a primarily melee player who more than excels in the current system, moar power is exciting! New eternal orb sounds pretty awesome too, though I hope they're no more rare than exalteds (ie. mirror rarity) as the only way to 'correctly' utilise them would still be via hoarding orbs prior to attempts at sockets/links/exaltings, making working on backup equip still the more economical approach. Nevertheless, a very exciting orb!
Also, can't wait to see what the new recipe will be. I can only imagine a recipe for fusings as one still doesn't exist while all other orbs (except regrets and exalteds) can be gotten via recipe.
Awesome stuff all around.
kaoms only exists in the legacy league that was just wiped via this update.

So will the monster damage reduction and health passive reduction be essentially equal so the overall effect will be only that armor and evasion are boosted or will we feel like our health is of less concern then before? Also if physical dmg is boosted and our life is cut, won't that make reflect a huge concern, especially with lowered hp values?
reflect can be dodged evaded and absorbed by armor
defences get a boost so id say try it out

Well they'll only be nerfing `Life %` nodes, not `Life +` affixes. So the difference will be the same.

No this is actually a pretty big nerf to Koam's (depending on how much health is reduced by).
The reason Koam's is so powerful is that the 1000 health gets multiplied by all your passive life nodes; hence, a nerf to life nodes is a nerf to Koam's, especially since it only has about 600 armour max, and armour/evasion is now apparently much more important for defense.
I might even go so far as to say Koam's may be obsolete, of course it's too early to tell without knowing how much health is nerfed and how much armour is buffed.
