I haven't played D4 since it released and I skipped the expansion. Is it any good now? Its a big plus for me with the 32:9 support so I might give it a go.

Diablo IV is now in its final phase before death.

I was born in 1972, and I have never felt as frustrated as I do when playing Diablo 4. Before this, I played Diablo 2 and spent over eight years on Diablo 3, which, in my opinion, is a great ARPG with fantastic ideas—until Blizzard ruined it.

I survived in D4 until Season 6, plus an additional 10 days.

I never even considered purchasing the worst product ever released by Blizzard: Vessel of Hatred.

Now, Blizzard is attempting to reinvent the wheel with Diablo IV by incorporating ideas from Diablo III.

If someone is considering returning to or starting to play D4, my advice is: DO NOT. You will gain a "lifetime of experience"

Diablo VI is completely broken. Over the past year, it has transformed from a platform game into a mobile phone game crap.

So it could be implemented with very minimal effort. However I think it's great if they implemented it in a way they thought is more fair - maybe making light radius a more useful stat than simply letting you see more on the minimap.

I think its wild that the last thing I wrote is that I'm fine with a solution with fog of war and yet somehow you missed that. But I guess it wasn't literal enough for you as I called it "make light radius more useful".

I don't think its necessary to do a nuanced solution mind you, I don't agree with you that it breaks the game to "just put it in".

Anyone who has tried the uw mod will tell you that it works fine. You are speculating about some server side issues but no one has any direct experience with that and its pure speculation on your part.

I'm fine with a more complex solution like fog of war.

Thank you for the reply. I won't check out D4 then, but I'm currently looking for alternatives to PoE2 because of the aspect ratio situation so I'm open to suggestions :)

Yep... there are literally only two games in decades of gaming where I really, REALLY regret that I spent money on them. One is "No Man's Sky" because to me it's boring af and while "No Man's Sky" is "second place"... the distance to "Diablo 4" is insane. If I could - I would use time travel to prevent me from giving money to Blizzard for this... "game". It's an insult to the entire community, fanbase... hell... industry. I guess "Diablo Immortal" is worse, but I haven't played it so... yeah.
Last Epoch launching 1.2 soon, if you haven't tried that out. Ghazzy gave a glowing recommendation on the endgame.

I played the beta in Diablo 4 and that was actually fun so I got jebaited.

In the Beta you couldn't go past level 30 and it was actually fun running into the Butcher in dungeons and the World Boss was a real challenge (although I almost managed to solo kill it on hardcore in the beta, so probably that should have been a red flag for me lol).

Thanks, I might check that out! I have never played it before. Should I wait for 1.2 or just get started? :)

I don't know if they will make the same league system as PoE, so i'd at least recommend playing the arcs to get used to the classes, see if you like anything, and their respective systems. Believe it or not, there is actual crafting in the craft sense of the word, while also making the ground loot meaningful.

Same. I played the beta and thought "Well, it's way more simple than PoE, but combat is fun so far and the story seems interesting". The problem is, you normally would assume that the game gets even better the further you get, like... the first few levels are the "tutorial", but instead the quality went down after Act 1 so fast... I view it personally as a scam.

And the writing... setting up "Lilith" as an "antagonist" we side with would be sooo much better. Like, who came up with this? First, they don't put Diablo in a Diablo game and then they destroy the coolest character...

Classic poe fans take:
D4 beta - you shouldn't assume it will ever get better, CCU growth on season 7 and 8 is a lie
Poe2 beta - you should only assume it will get better, everyone who disagrees will be lectured to death
