XP loss needs to go (566 hours play time)

No. I am level 96 with my Invoker monk.

I just died trying to reach 97.

I did stupid things thats why I died.

I went into a Delirium instilled map going Leeroy Jenkins to test luck

Rarity and Quantity Map.
90+ Ailment Threshold for Monsters
Minus Max Resistance
Increased Monster Damage
Extra Elemental Damage

in a Crypt Map I got GG surrounded by same stupid monsters and the Delirium Unique Boss.

That is not the -10 XP fault , it is my fault.

I LOL at it and I am now grinding again.

10% XP should not go. Cheers.

Funny how it's the same several trolls in every topic on xp loss defending their "muh difficulty".

I'm confident ggg is aware of the obvious correlation between negative player retention and the artificial difficulty, xp loss on death. It's up to them whether they will take their "wider audience" seriously, or ignore them and find out 3.26 would've been a far better time and money investment.

I would say if they really want to keep some exp loss, the best and most aceptable way is losing the xp gained in the current map. that is fair not full 10% where those 10% take 30 maps to get.

Agreed, this would mitigate the frustration when you are 1 shotted by a white mob, or stunlocked, or killed by an off screen water hag.

You already have the penalty of resetting the map to have no modifiers and losing a good waystone. In my mind the 10% loss of xp for the level is not ok past level 86 / 87 from a time perspective. i have a lvl 93 Titan, o started at 51% this morniong, i am now 0%. i have 7k EHP, 69% armour, 75% block 15% evade and all resists over 75%.

As melee i have no choice but to get in close, its how i do damage, and i acknoledge i will make mistakes. I should have a penalty. But not one that wipes out the last 2 or 3 hours of play. It would be like getting to the top of the league in fotball, loosing one game and dropping to 10th place.
Stop dying, don’t have to worry about xp loss then
Regarding the EXP loss per map...

Some maps pay out gobs of EXP, especially with modifiers. Well more than a single loss would cost you if you aren't in the mid 90's. Be careful what you wish for.

TBH the exp loss sucks, we all agree. But it's part of the game and has been part of classic ARPG's for a long time. I think it could maybe be tuned to more of a sliding scale as 10% at level 70 is not the same as 10% at level 95. But there should be something or people will just throw glass cannon builds at everything.

As Thanos said, perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Yes I know i know this topic triggers a lot of you but hear me out. In the games current state XP loss adds no value to the game.

omg, really?... almost 100 and still can't use basic instruments?

The fact that GGG feel the need to put something like this in the game tell it all about how people feel about it. Why try to bandaid thing with an annoying "workaround" when you can just remove the thing first...

And if you feel it's fun to play with xp loss, just go play hardcore. I mean, you like punishment yourself no?
Time to Git Gud like all the cool kids say nowadays
