There are a few very vocal people who are soooooo set into poe1 for soooooooo many years that anything different doesn't fit their minds. Watching Ben's video is exactly like that, he is a master of poe1 for sure and he does point some things that could improve in some way but he points at them with some extreme negativity like someone who has been taken out of his comfort zone. That's ok, he will still have poe1 to zoom zoom no life. But that's not the point of poe2, which has a very different intention and still lacks 80% of the content it is supposed to have plus fixes and changes from actual feedback from people who do understand what's the point of poe2 (first thing he says in the video is he doesn't understand that). Ben, the point is not to please people who already love poe1. It is something else. You can like both or only one of them and that's ok.
Please GGG, adjust PoE2 for its own vision and do not turn it into PoE1 remastered. I, for one, have not played poe1 for a long time and have no intention on getting back to it.
Hard agree. Next time when I trash talk someone I ask you for a TL;DR and political correctness advice. That's really good on point.

I haven’t seen a reply to the OP that rebuts any of his remarks in a cogitation fashion. (I Looked that word up)
Being a Poe 2 player who only played POE 1 to level 44 with a witch I greatly enjoy POE 2 and completely understand its monumental success. For the same reasons poe1 players don’t like poe2 I believe are the reasons poe2 appeals to a broader more casual audience.
Really the only thing that upsets me about GGG and POE2 is that Elon musk admitted to boosting a top ranked character. Haven’t heard a peep from them about that.
In POE2 I have lvl 88 Titan, level 95 Deadeye, level 95 Gemling. Poe1 was overly complicated I watched a video for about 30 minutes (2 hours long) of “Z” crafting a multi mirror in poe1 and all the graves and things he had to go through? Hard pass.
Btw this has been bothering me about Ben’s video he said there’s no reason to kill anything except rates. I have had divines drop from magics and normals. Also distilled maps all mobs will drop simulacrums. I just don’t think he gave it a fair shake or maybe he’s upset about something other than the state of the game in particular. I could be wrong y’all sure do seem to like him a ton. He must be right about a few things.
That’s the thing about hard long arguments, both sides are holding on to truths and both sides are right.
Yep. You can get good base items, waystones, divines and other useful stuff from "non-rares", so I couldn't understand what he wants from them more.

-1 to OP
I agree with Ben, game is in a rough identity crisis state and needs some care.

Bro you got filtered by poe1, you are nowhere near at a level where you would be able to understand even 1% of Ben's criticisms towards PoE2. Just accept that you are new and inexperienced and you maybe don't know enough. It's not a hard concept.
As for why people aren't trying to engage with the OP, it's because he's not actually discussing in good faith. He's here to patronise and belittle. We could sit and nitpick his post, but it would be pointless, because he is so full of himself that he would never accept rebuttals.
However, for your sake, I will nitpick one small part which is immediately, glaringly obvious, just so that you can maybe accept that we know why we are not engaging with the OP: When Ben talks about the Atlas system, he is not criticising sustain. He is criticising how tedious it is to set up your atlas for efficient farming strategies. The OP is actually so far behind on that subject, that his only comprehension of endgame mapping is "do not run the maps with unfavourable mods". He is basically at the beginning of endgame, leveraging criticism on someone who is so far above him that what he is saying is unfathomable to him.
Ben is NOT talking about Alch and go, but that is all the OP understands because that's the level he has reached. He is talking about searching the atlas for efficient tower placements for tablet setups, with good map layouts around them, and good waystones on top, which is extremely tedious indeed compared to setting up your farming in PoE1.
Darling, the only one who doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the topic is you. If you would stop your mindless "yadda yadda" you could see that I engage with every single one who has something to say besides "yadda yadda" on a constructive level.

Yep, +1.
Look, Ben's a great PoE1 player, and I have a lot of respect for his skills. But Ben's also doing highly competitive things that most people playing this game will never do. He has a valid perspective, but it's a narrow perspective, and PoE2 should not be built or balanced with the Bens of the world foremost in mind. GGG can certainly listen to his feedback (and I'm sure they have, given how prominent he is in PoE1's player community) but they are trying to make PoE2 into something different, and they should continue doing so. If anything, GGG should do more to differentiate the two games, not make PoE2 more like PoE1.
Stay sane, exiles!

Bruh... I am not "far behind" by any means. I don't have these problems because I run T15 max mod deli maps when I travel to towers, then juice my area and run higher stuff. Does the atlas system need improvement? Sure, 100%, but everybody - including GGG - already knows that.

From watching Ben’s video it seemed the only thing he liked was the campaign, which is the only thing that is actually noticeably different than PoE. They purposely tried to make a different endgame to differentiate the 2 games and it fell massively flat while reusing old mechanics and making them worse.

While I don't agree with all of Ben's points I do believe that he has at least some valid gripes that have drained me from the will to play further.
I know for sure I miss things like:
-- Scarabs
-- Being able to focus [nigh-exclusively] on beneficial map layouts
-- Mid-tier item crafting
-- Having many different ways for characters to be economically viable
...
I'm sure that some (many?) of my gripes are fixable because we're basically in early E.A. but some issues appear to be design decisions that add tedium that I don't appreciate.

Some of his takes could be given some merit for individual points but at times he would say completely wild things.
Such as PoE1 having better combat then PoE2. Even in the current state of the game, that is some insane thing to say. Not to mention that he was giving example his PoE1 build for pressing more then 1 buttons. I don't think I need to remind anyone where 1 button builds and autobomber and afk builds come from.
Moreover a lot of "PoE1 veterans" still don't seem to understand that just pressing more buttons doesn't mean the combat is better but good combat will have you press more buttons as a result.
"Sigh"

If Ben was saying that combat in the campaign was worse [esp. at "league start"] then I'd disagree with him.
However I believe that Ben was communicating that a "successful" build in PoE2 inherently has fewer different skills to juggle than PoE1 does. I'm not convinced that he's necessarily wrong.
