In theory, it’s simple—but in practice, it’s anything but. Once you reach the low 90s, every death sets you back 2–3 hours of progress. This means that if you enjoy challenging content and die just once every three hours, you’ll never gain any XP. Think about that: I can sit down, play for three hours, perform nearly perfectly, and then get one-shot by a boss—only to end up right back where I started. Makes me feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.

glad to see all of the shills coming out of their wholes with their dogshit takes. if you dont want your mmo to cater to players with different time and skill levels then ur mmo dies. and yes i know its an arpg but it is first and foremost a MassiveMultiplayerOnline game. and [Removed by Support]. i specified some compromises but ur all to [Removed by Support] and stubborn to make any concession. if your game can kill the motivation of someone with over 5000+ h in wareframe do u seriously think it wont do so to the rest of the casuals. ur lucky diablo sucks and last epoch was a dud, give it time tho and sometime sooner or later someone will break that glass tower your so comfortable throwing stones from. its really not that heard to find compromises for the betterment of the game but i guess elitism, gatekeeping, and your imaginary "sense of accomplishment" for enduring a broken system is more important.
Its not our fault you're bad at the game.

gotta justify all that money u spent i see, gatekeep harder im sure the devs will love u back. its really not that hard to make version or compromise for those that dont want to be shoot in the head for every single mistake, but i guess that just makes me bad at the game

dont care if you disagree your wrong and that includes the devs. "gUt GoD" if thats your mentality go play soul level 1 while blindfolded with your feet. exp loss is demoralizing, if not for your its for the majority of players, and tbh i could forgive it if not for all the other bs punishment on top of it. its like going over a toll bridge only for cop to always be their to pull u over for any infraction. sure you can say "lol just drive better" but thats not addressing whats happening and it applies to the game as well. no one drives perfect no one plays perfect demanding i play your way or not at all will lead me to just not play not get better, just like id avoid the toll bridge not drive better. exp is the steps that drive you towards progression and while they r progression, especially in early game, they become more like small incremental steps towards a truly powerful character, removing 10% every time i die is telling me if i want those steps i cant enjoy playing the game anymore, either confirm and play perfect or go grind and i mean grind days, not hours in content ive long since out leveled mindlessly. its not fun, it kills motivation and it will gatekeep the game, and that sucks. if you want to gatekeep u dont deserve to be heard cause you don't want others to be heard, u dont care about the health of the game or its players so u need to exist the convo. ive seen many suggestions, reducing the grind, capping exp loss, or if you really want to keep the gate ,ake a super casual mod that removes it so players who like that can still have it and those like me who dont can still enjoy the game. this doesnt need to be an on or off switch issue there is nuisance to be had but so long as the response of both players and devs is lol get good, its going to cap any and all progress of growing and maintaining the game. and if u need the ultimate proof, you wont find it the forms or thread here because i knwo he wont post but on of my long time gaming friends (weve been playing for 15+y) is a true free to play warframe player, never spent a single dime and is very high level with all base frames and all but like 2 primes. man can grind like no other, he even plays gatcha games like zzz and genshin when it first dropped. hes big at working a game to fit for him doesnt like to follow the patch notes or youtubers a true gamer if ive seen one. he dropped the game once he reached maps and has been at lvl 70 for weeks now as he got to endgame weeks ago b4 i did. i wondered why he basically stopped playing and wasnt surpassing me and out other friends like he does in every other game by wide margins now i know why. i reached maps/waypoints and all motivation droopped off a cliff once i saw that exp bar going down, it killed me, it killed him and it will kill the long term viability of the game
I opened this thread, took a Shaper Slam to my unprepared face, and lost XP.

I blame the random invisible OS mechanics. Pro gamer stuck at lvl 70, ultimate proof.
Demorilized over a xp loss in a video game like a 6years old girl.

not very good at reading, again i could forgive the exp loss if not for how punishing everything else is on top of it, and im harping on the exp cause i dont want to see the game go supper easy either. getting kicked in the balls after losing my materials and time, while also losing progress in the maps to have the loss in exp added on top of all that as well is insulting and demoralizing, the solution is to simply change/remove it and guys like u ignoring any solution while lambasting other mechanics and gatekeeping difficulty is actually acting like an 8yro

Rough, you call people stubborn and dumb while auto-rejecting peoples opinions which you call "dog shit takes"... I hope you see the irony in your post. If you're serious, try adapting because I don't think EXP loss on death is going anywhere. They've already added omens to prevent the majority of loss but if you're dying that much that you're proccing a handful in a day then you're either a glass cannon or reckless.
