Trial of sekhema is really bad
So, at maps i'm only droping ascencions with trial of sekhemas. I'm 76 and am strugling more at honor damage than doing t10 maps.
I didn't manage to complete 3 floor up until now. I did a normal trial to unlock will squares to put more relics. Guess what, i manage to put 4 relics and get about 18-25% honor damage reduction at each one. IT WAS USELESS. Every time i get to the 3 floor, i'm full of penality, every floor i have 2 guarantee penality that i can't miss and neither remove at a room. And the worst thing is you need to choose a pineapple or a cactus to put in that place. Not to mention that penality like "cant see afliction, rewards, and forehead rooms" are TOO MUCH when there are times you can't choose between 2 rooms. And i don't even need to mention losing 5% of health, es and mana on getting hit. Every time i get to 3 floor boss i'm with about 20-50% honor, the boss rips all my honor without doing damage at my heatlh. Is about taking 2-5 hits to rip all my honor (remembering that i put lot of resistence at it) So yeah, this trial is kind dumb when you can't just get the corruption trial. Combine all this with defenses being useless at trial. It needs changes, and fast. | |
Half honour points and make it only works with traps damage
this could fix for melee and tank with low dps close combat builds Want to make boss fights lose honour? add some traps to boss room, like in poe1, but pls dont make mob or boss damage honour its not fair to melees |

" This is a nice compromise IMO One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

I have to say I am a casual 47 year old player here, so I cant just dump hours into gaming. When confronted with these "Trials" (Both the Sekhemas and the Chaos ones) where contrary to the way the whole game used to work -that is if you die you spawn at the last checkpoint- now you are forced to start from scratch all over again felt like a really cheap an unethical way to imposse some arbistrary measure of "difficulty".

+1 Don't like this at all. This is one of the things that makes you quit the game: You need to finish this bad trial or you wont get your ascendency points, not optional like in PoE1.

The fact that melee characters have such a huge disadvantage makes me want to put the game down until it's fixed. I don't know who in the developer stoner mind thought this was a good idea to make it so unforgiving but he needs to be fired. Ideas like this will kill this game. Honour is beyond stupid. It's no longer a game of fighting but a game of running away and avoid damage and put out minions or totems to do the damage for you. Going against the entire point of a melee character

Yeah, its very questionable idea to make melee so punished, making some builds utterly unplayable in trials.
Honour can be made optional system, like if you keep lot of it, you will have some bonuses or more loot, whatever, but not making it nessesary for completion. |

It seems to me that your armor and elemental resistances also affect how much honor damage you take, although I'm not entirely sure. With 75% honor resistance, almost capped elemental resistance and around 60% phys reduction I wasn't taking a lot of honor damage, even from traps. I was also overleveled by about 10 levels. The third floor boss smacked me around quite a bit, but the honor damage I took wasn't too bad. I also had 62% evasion. Got my third ascendancy. Bear in mind I have not done the four floor trial yet.
The 4 relics I ran were 1 extra honor/honor resistance, 2 boss takes extra damage/honor resistance and 1 small extra honor relic. |

This is the worst designed thing I've ever seen in an ARPG. I just completely wasted 45 minutes, was doing a run where I had a ton of boons, I was at like 2000/5000 honor with a few rooms to go, and I misclicked and hit ONE TRAP and lost 2000 honor and lost the run. This is so enraging and it's SO UNBELIEVABLY STUPID that core character progression is locked behind this complete BS. I just want my ascendancy points.

I don't mind this being hard. I don't mind this being punishing for meeles. What I DO mind that it's mandatory.
As a meele I want a choice to ignore content I do not enjoy without sacrificing my core progression. |
