Continuous Stuttering/Lag Despite Stable FPS and Internet in PoE 2 Early Access

Same problem here. I open up the settings and I can see the green network ping bar spiking every second or so exactly as often as I get the stutters. Waiting for network optimization.
It's fcking unplayable without prdictive option seriously... after 10min the game start stuttering and it getting worse and worse until i can't do everything (sometimes i can't use any spells but can run/put a skill point in tree). It drives me crazy to die because of stuttering/lag/whatever despite having 8ms, please fix ur game GGG
I am showing same situation. Almost our pc specs is same i have a RTX 4070ti super i didn't play without lag and stuttering. Pls fix this. Literaly our pc are overpower and you can not play even this specs. Shame on you. There was a same problems in first game. You re developing engine but passing performance issues

Check the reddit. Most of people have a same problem!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue in Path of Exile 2 Early Access and was hoping someone could help. Despite my FPS remaining stable and my internet connection being solid (300-400 Mbps), I keep encountering stuttering and lag. It’s not tied to any specific location or activity in the game—it happens randomly during gameplay, and my first session was particularly bad.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Adjusted in-game settings (including lowering visual effects and disabling unnecessary options).
Capped my FPS to prevent fluctuations.
Checked hardware utilization (none of my components are maxed out).
My specs are as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 4070 Super
RAM: 32 GB DDR5
Storage: 2 TB SSD
Cooling: Liquid cooling (temps are low and stable)
The game is installed on my SSD, and I’ve verified the files through the launcher. The issue seems more like micro-stutters or desync rather than classic lag or FPS drops.

Is anyone else encountering this? Any tips or settings adjustments I might have missed? Thanks in advance!

Anyone try switching crossplay off? It feels like it has been improved once I switched it off.

Wonder if it's not where the packet loss etc is coming from due to the Xbox, PS and PC servers having to jump through more firewalls etc to integrate between the platforms.
I'm primarily playing solo so don't care about who is in my instance.
Hopefully staff will see this thread soon because it's even worse today! and some insight would be much appreciated.

what I've tried:

Tried changing all in game settings, High detail/ turned everything off. No change. I have a steady 120ish FPS, dropping as low as maybe 50 in heavy combat on max settings, so I'm confident that this isn't the problem.

DX11, DX12, Vulcan. doesn't matter, gameplay is smoothest on DX12 but the 1000+ network spikes continue.

Location in game doesn't matter, spikes happen everywhere, every few seconds regardless of how busy an area is.

Tried overriding the game settings with Nvidia control panel. Doesn't work.

Ruled out my router by hotspotting myself from my phone, 5G. same result, 1k spikes with the same consistency.

All my hardware drivers have been updated. Latest Nvidia driver installed, Game is installed on an SSD. so from the above, I'm pretty confident its not hardware or internet speed related my end.

I've tried different servers, same regardless of server. interestingly my friends are also on London and they're fine? could this be an ISP routing issue? and therefore some experience it and others not? I'm not a web wizard so my knowledge on how this works is limited, but I've read similar reports in other threads.

I had an issue with D4 previously (similar lag issue) and it was due to the Overlay! Disabled steam overlay didn't work sadly. But another thing I did notice is that if friends ping messages through via steam, this also causes the network to spike, especially if they spam text you in which case the spike is even worse. So is this a Steam client issue specifically?

I'm all out of ideas for now. hopefully this helps

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
GPU: EVGA 1070TI
Ram 32GB

Speed test: 336mbps down/ Latency 113, 65mbps up/ Latency 19.
Close chrome.
I don't know if this is ultimately the reason for these issues but whatever the "hybrid mode" is it doesn't work for people who had to play PoE 1 with predictive. And it is feeling very similar problems to me like I have playing PoE 1 with lockstep. Game is just stuttering every 5 seconds despite my ping seemingly being stable. I don't care if predictive sometimes makes me desync a little bit, at least I can play the game. Unlike now when I don't feel like playing it at all. I've stutter-stepped my way to Act 2 but honestly now I'm kind of fed up dealing with it. Hopefully there's some attention to it next week.
same here, speed test put me at 5 - 20 ms , but in game its 100 - 400 ms with constant micro lag and delay, borderline unplayable
