Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.

Played another 8 hours with almost no fun.

5 big problems

1. No loot - fixable
2. bad balance - fixable
3. boss resetting - for me the worst decision ever. Will result in playing meta skills and kill build diversity.
4. need more than one skill for high damage. For me on console sucks. For example I have no control where the
flamewall appears. I have control about the direction but not over the distance. Thats just frustrating
5. Dodge - Way to much !!! It's ok to dodge a special attack. But its no fun to dodge more than we attack

It's early access mate.
I don't bloody like it either, hell I dropped it after 11 hours.
But writing the game off at this point is premature. I would be happy to come back and give it another go once GGG course correct.

There are the bones of a good ARPG here, but the numbers are all way off.

Because It's early access, that's why we are here to tell the developer what we want as a player, if it's official release people would just quit.

Ah, yeah I'm aware of that mate.
That's why I have been giving feedback.

Writing the game off is reasonable and understandable because this is what we got at current EA stage. I'm sure people will give better review once game gets better, just like No Man Sky.

I played in the PoE 1 Settlers league. You can say I'm new in PoE 1, but I love this game. For this reason, I bought PoE 2 early access. I thought it would be the best version of PoE 1 or at least something similar. I've been playing PoE 2 for two days and I can say: it's a very difficult and boring game. It is difficult precisely because of the souls-like mechanics. I don't like Dark souls, I love Path of exile.
They stated 6-12 months till final release, but in fact, it will be 24 months. In 2026 we will have Titan Quest II and a far superior, perfect Last Epoch, and the latter really defined intuitive, useful new (trading, crafting, etc.) systems. PoE 2 has no chance to survive, in my opinion. (And who knows where D4 is heading.)

You played POE for thousands of hours and you can't beat the act 1 boss shows how bad POE1 is compared to POE2 training bad players. I only have 200 hours in POE, never watched any guides or youtubers, just played casually doing whatever I want. Only played maybe less than 20 end game maps and I still beat act 1 boss after 3 tries.

It's incredibly fun, but anything is unfun if you keep losing 10000 times without any way to improve it. I don't want to sound like that guy but it's a skill issue... and you don't even need to be very good to beat act 1 boss. This is a situation where you should just say right I'm going to get a bit better.

This is really a wild take man. Last Epoch will be niché at best, just like Grim Dawn in comparison to Diablo and Path of Exile games. Does absolutely NOT mean these are bad games, quite the opposite. LE and Grim Dawn rule. Titan Quest 2 early showings were to me very underwhelming in terms of visuals and fluidity. PoE2 no chance to survive?? Again, wild take imho. I think it has actually the biggest chances of them all, simply because everything people complain about can be adjusted relatively easy while you can still keep the core identity of PoE2, meaning the fact its a slower paced game. So i think PoE2 is the most modern thinking and advanced ARPG on the market right now. But it needs A FKKKING LOT of finetuning. And this is exactly why we are here discussing and debating this in Early Access. Writing the game off in version 0.1 by any ARPG fan is a huge mistake in my eyes.

From limited experience I have so far (ACT 2), I prefer POE 2, by a lot.

POE 2 still can use some tuning and currency/drops should be increased in campaign, but I don't want to see 6 portal meta or brain-dead campaigns and fights in POE 2.

POE 1 will still be updated, so anyone who really dislike the philosophy of POE 2, can always return.

Elden ring bosses are fun, I am banging my head against geowhatever and IT IS NOT FUN! GGG why did you forget that the most important thing, beyond all else, is that its fun?

I quit!
I don't mind MOST of the mechanics. The numbers, though... I'm +3 on monster level for the act 1 boss, carrying 43% cold resist (I consider that a pretty good amount for extremely early in a campaign), 593 energy shield, and am basically unthreatened by the whole fight... until it goes into the wolf rush, where you're GOING to get hit as a sorc just due to cast times and sheer numbers. When I'm lucky, I can burn off enough and roll around enough to get through. When I'm not, and wolves stun me too much to cast and block rolling, I'm tissue paper with no chance to correct.

As noted in another thread, I've still got some really old gear because I'm playing solo and nothing better has dropped, but act 1 is really too early to expect players to reclear zones for drops.

Whether it's the boss tuning or the gear not being adequate, The King in the Mists and the Act 1 boss have just been seriously difficult in ways that just aren't fun.

I'm going to need some more on this my man. Can you show me anything in POE2 right now that is new, innovative or not being done some where else, better.

I think its one thing to say its got some issues, or its doing some ok stuff, but to try and believe its doing anything remotely new or best-in-genre right now is a big stretch.
I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.

Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play.
