POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen
" So, has anyone tried it? Did it fix anything? |

" i tried it now but it didn't fix anything. |

Nvidia employee replied that poe2 fix will be in next driver release. Looks like January release 🤣

" How will a new Nvidia driver gonna fix a CPU related issue? |

Can confirm turning off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows settings has stopped the locking up completely for me after playing for 45 minutes straight. Can't say if anything will happens after a few hours but no crashes/lock ups yet after having them since launch basically. CPU is Intel 10th Gen and GPU GTX 3070.

" So far this has fixed my game!! Just loaded the game several times and went back and forth between areas many times and no crashes. Also another thing I noticed with this driver is that when using poeuncrasher, it will still park cpu cores at the loading screens, but it's not having to go into real time mode to recover my PC from freezing. Edit: PoEUncrasher finally saved me from a freeze crash, but it's happening less often. Last edited by Xanth77#6770 on Dec 23, 2024, 11:44:51 PM

Pidge2k (Nvidia Forum Representative) claims poe2 crashing fix in January driver release. For now, there's https://github.com/Kapps/PoEUncrasher "For people who still experience the game (but not their PC) freezing after using this tool, run it as an administrator and it will attempt to recover PoE by setting the process to realtime when it detects the game freezes. After the game recovers, it reverts it back to normal priority." |

theres no way for PoE2 to cause a bluescreen - freeze as its a userland process, the fault doesnt fall on GGG but on the GPU driver, is it the latest? no game will ever cause a bluescreen or freeze unless it makes use of kernel-mode drivers.
Edit: or a bad OC, are u pushing your RAM to hard perhaps? that could cause a OS freeze if it hit the kernel address space. Last edited by pinimo#0250 on Dec 24, 2024, 12:26:06 AM

So, I tried every suggestion here, and other voodoo and placebo fixes from around the web (including the Uncrasher)
Some lasted longer, some had the effect of sacrificing virigns to a volcano, but nothing actually fixed the problem. It's super frustrating to have to wait, however it is still a great EA game, and loads of fun, when it works, if I compare it to D4 the conclusion is that I had to try really hard to like D4 and it didn't work, this bug made me want to not like PoE2, which didn't work either I would wait for a an actual official fix, as some of the fixes and workarounds do last longer tha others, but I think takes away from the experiance for me, crossing fingers each time I teleport to town or a new zone |

By far the best way for me is to set the maximum CPU-usage to 98%. There are still freezings, but far less than let it to 100%. Can play now for hours...
