But its hard master. please help me make sound and wise choices so that I dont fall back to my old ways. My life feels empty now when I cant complain all the time. All I want to do is complain, but its unwise. Im lost.
But, if your game runs flawless master. What are you doing here on this forum? Is it also now my quest in life to defend GGG at all cost from ungreatful customers who complain that they can't play the game they paid to play for over 3 month with little to no communication, no way of getting a refund and no support?
Jokes aside. Im not really that mad actually. You make it seem like all I do is complaining, thats not really true. Have a nice day. talk to you later.
The first issue is that, if you want to actually get help from people, then you need to be respectful to them. Paragraphs full of sarcasm works against that. As a rule of comedy and sarcasm, "less is more."
But, once again, putting aside your sarcasm, the advice I've given a few times that helped me out quite a bit was checking my virtual ram. My default Windows 11 install had it hard set to 4gb. This was causing POE 2 and other apps running at the time to run out of memory, causing a crash.
So, I set the minimum ram to 1.5 times the installed ram, and the maximum to 3 times. Just multiply your physical ram times 1024, then times the above values. This cleared up most of the issues when used alongside POE Uncrasher. Also, I upgraded to Win 11 24H2. Shortly after came the GGG patch to address 24H2 issues. That cleared up the rest of them. Now, I don't even need to run POE Uncrasher.
My system is very "middle of the road". AMD processor and Nvidia GPU. No overclocking whatsoever. My only concern with the current state of the game is the CPU usage that spikes up the CPU temperature. I'm waiting to see how that gets handled.
Lastly, I just want to point out that I came to this point of my game experience without yelling and screaming at GGG. I simply read, did some research, and look at Event Viewer after a crash. Then I turned around and shared what I'd learned with others.
Hope that helps you.
I have set my virtual memory to 1.5 the installed a while back thank you very much. Long before the 24h2 fix. I have litterally tried everything suggested in this thread. The virtual memory thing probably helps a bit with performance. Hard to think it will solve a fork bomb inside GGG's code.
The 24h2 fix is just GGG automatically toggeling engine multithreading on loadscreens if it detects 24h2 running on your machine. I got that confirmed by their community manager. This should work, and it does 99% of the time, but I have had a total freeze 2 times since that patch. Probably because the toggeling don't work in some situation or is too slow. I am yet to crash when toggling engine multi-threading manually before a load screen.
The auto toggling of eninge multithreading was indead suggested by me and a few others in this thread waay back. Maybe they actually let themself be managed by the community by ppl who have not seen a single line of code afterall?
Hope that helps.

It's probably a silly question or two, but did you multiply your physical ram by 1024, then set the minimum to 1.5 that number and 3 times that number for the maximum? Are you running POE Uncrasher at the same time? Also, are you running a web browser at the same time? This can have an impact on performance (though, Edge just came out with a new feature that lets you limit the amount of ram web pages can use while you're gaming).

well over 500+ pages...was a solution found?

So far vulkan seem stable to me. Last time i tried DX12(1 month ago ish) my PC froze at a random point ingame instead of in loading screen. With Vulkan however the problem seem resolved. I've been playing for multiple hours per day for a week without issue.
I've been having problems with this ever since the problem revealed itself to me in settlers league before poe2 EA so this is a good indicator.
Will report back if anything changes.
edit: vulkan did nothing to fix the issue last time i tried over a month ago, and dx12 might be fixed now. I refuse to try it out now when i finally get to play.

Hey everyone. My gaming comp (i9-14900K, RTX 4090) is yet still crashing all the time despite of all what has been offered for fix (here, steam, reddit). Now the funny part is that my old 2017 razor blade laptop has not crashed a single time. 200+ hours with it. And they both have same windows versions.
Now my question is, does anyone know which combination of older prosessor and graphics card has been working most efficiently? Or even without any crashes? My old laptop is lagging so hard if i Juice up my maps and T4 pinnacles are a nightmare with ball lightning.
So after trying pretty much everything (list is too long to mention everything) this dude on reddit solved my problem. By installing Intel extreme tuning utility and lowering p Core to 53 and efficient core to 43, not a single crash in 3 days. Virtual memory increase, shader cache del, lasso, poeuncrasher, vulkan, NVIDIA settings, bios update, win 1123 or all of those other things did not help at all.
So for Intel peeps this should help

Same thing is happening to my wife's computer. She crashes either at the load in screen or after selecting a character and entering the game. Hasn't got past that point. Fresh install of Windows (10 22H2) with 2TB of space and 32GB of DDR5, fresh install of game, verified game files, latest nVidia drivers.
Requires a hard reset holding down the start button on the PC until it turns off. After turning it back on, SOMETIMES it starts up again, sometimes not. Eventually, when it did start up, I left it sitting at the Desktop while I took a shower. When I came back, the machine was in blue screen with a QR code and said it was trying to collect data but was frozen on 0%. Hard reset again.
Not only is the game (and only this game) crashing her PC, it appears to be leaving behind some incremental changes (damage?) to the PC that lingers. I plan to try and force DX11 or Vulcan, or if necessary, single threading, but I can't even boot up the machine now to try any of those things.
By the way, it took me FOREVER to log in to this forum because that stupid Cloudfare kept asking me to verify that I'm a human. I had to research the net to figure out how to get around this. What is up with GGG? Is all this a result of Chris leaving, or the reason he is gone? Or something else? (shakes head)
Man, this needs to be fixed.

Use Windows search to find "Event Viewer", then look at "System Reports". Check to see if you see anything related to CPU errors. They will have the red "critical" symbol next to them. Then see if you can borrow (or just buy) a different GPU.
I had this kind of issue before POE 2 came out on a system I bought. The GPU was used, so I swapped it out to test. Sure enough, the issue hasn't happened even once. A bad GPU can cause CPU critical errors, causing BSOD and restarts.
Hope that helps.

Can we get a update from a staff in regards to this issue?
PEOPLE ARE STILL CRASHING AND FREEZING.
PLEASE STOP TREATING THIS ISSUE AS RESOLVED.
I CAN BARELY GET TO THE MAIN MENU WITHOUT CRASHING.

GGG have a fix for 24h2 for win 11. This one automatically toggles engine multithreading on and off on load screens if you are running the 24h2 update. GGG apparently thinks this issues only happens for 24h2 users for some reason.
Might be worth upgrading to this version just to solve this issue.
Otherwise you can toggle engine multithreading manually before every cogwheel, this works 100% of the time but it a lot more annoying to deal with. These are the only two solutions right now.
