They could easily make the loading screen use only one core so it doesnt hardlock pc. Atleast what would be better for now until they find better solution

+1
I set poe2.exe to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 in the properties section, and the loading freeze stopped after that. Not sure if it’s just a placebo, but it works for now, so I’m happy!

Placebo. Did not work for me.

Also, in 20 minutes we'll see that nothing has changed after the patch and we will rush here to the forum to rage. God bless us all.
How harming is this to my hardware?

I don't think it will be harmful if you do it for a short time but If you keep hard-resetting your pc multiple times a day I think that's not ''ideal''. Idk if It can break something but I'm not risking it.

Here goes.

see how game eat more than 100% of your CPU in every load something.

Dude, you can't be serious.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\logs\Client.txt

^That Client.txt log file is in your POE2 folder. It logs EVERY SINGLE THING that happens while you're playing the game, including reporting errors, changing game settings, chatting with other players - literally EVERYTHING.

Check it out. It might be really big by now if you've been lucky enough to play the game a lot.

If you haven't uninstalled and reinstalled the game yet, it should have every single thing that has happened since you first installed the game and first played it.

If you open it with a notepad or any text viewer, hit EDIT at the top and use FIND to scroll through all the "error" or "failed" or CRIT or WARN other bug related terms.

Also, you'll see this entry below in the log whenever you start up the game, so if you crash, note what time you crashed and then check the lines at the time in your log, right before this entry to see what was happening before the game blew up your PC:

***** LOG FILE OPENING *****

For example, my game seems to crash whenever it's trying to create a resource for some textures. This is the most commonly logged event that happens before every single crash I have:

2024/12/06 18:52:59 7066515 ff73624f [CRIT Client 13396] No collision callback set! MoveTo was not called before setting up line sweeper. Metadata/Monsters/MudGolem/MudGolemWet1@3
2024/12/06 18:53:13 7079906 84b54dfb [CRIT Client 13396] [EXCEPTION] [D3D12] Failed to create resource for texture []
2024/12/06 18:53:13 7079906 84b54dfb [CRIT Client 13396] [EXCEPTION] [D3D12] Failed to create resource for texture []
------GAME CRASHES HERE, THEN I REBOOT AND THE LOG FILES BEGINS AGAIN------
2024/12/06 18:59:42 ***** LOG FILE OPENING *****

^this one where the "Mud Golem Wet" collision callback error occurs spammed over 100 times in the log right before the texture error triggered and my system crashed. I have tons of those collision callback errors in my log, every single day I was playing at some point. Almost all of them led to a system crash, where I rebooted and then tried playing again, with the Log FILE OPENING entry right after it.

But it's not just that MudGolem asset that's having issues. There are many many creatures that have the same collision callback errors in my log, all throughout the past week.

Every single time I have a system crash, the log shows a collision callback error, followed by a create texture resource error - then CRASH and I gotta REBOOT the PC. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

^So the question is - what is causing those errors? Bad shaders? Missing textures? Bad drivers? Bad compilers? What?

Hey everyone,

A few friends and I have been actively engaging in various threads about the ongoing Path of Exile 2 crashes, chiming in wherever we can to keep the conversation alive and hopefully push GGG to address this issue sooner rather than later.

To help spread awareness, I put together a video on the topic. If you decide to check it out, you can skip the first three minutes to get straight to the important stuff. Toward the latter half of the video, I’ve also included a brief compilation of some workarounds people have found helpful, though I’m sure many of you are already familiar with them.

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZMCHFqOtSA

Feel free to swing by, share your experience in the comments, and let’s keep the momentum going.

Cheers!
Game crashed 5 seconds after entering a map after update lol. What an absolute joke.
