POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

I've said this a few times, what's a few times more?

Have those that are crashing checked their virtual ram settings? They should be 1.5 times the amount of ram in your system for minimum, and 3 times for the maximum. For some reason, mine was defaulted to a hard 4gb, though I have 16gb in my system.

Multiply your ram by 1024, then times 1.5/3 for the values to input.

Once I did this, nearly all of my poe uncrasher "not responding" issues went away, and no CTD. After the recent crash patch, I've had none. Just about ready to stop using POE uncrasher, as it doesn't report any "not responding" anymore.

Just take a peek at your virtual ram and make sure it's set the way I described. It helped me a lot. Hope it helps you.

The only way to protect the system from its crash is to virtualize poe 2 process from the host OS. The workaround I proposed already helped to some users in this thread. Sure, the problem still persists in the system and must be addressed.

I'm not a software engineer by a long shot, but what I can say is that when I checked event viewer after a crash, I saw a lot of apps running at the time POE 2 was running, and POE 2 itself, running out of memory, forcing the crash. It was a memory leak/flood. So, it's something to check...couldn't hurt just to make sure.
Hi all,

We have deployed various fixes which should have resolved this issue for PoE2.

Please if you are still experiencing this issue on the current patch where your entire PC freezes whilst playing poe2 (or on loading screen). Send me as much information as you can in my private messages, including your config.ini in \Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2 as well as your dxdiag output (run dxdiag, save all information).

edit: Reminder this issue is not for device lost dx12 crash to desktop crashes.

Mine has been drastically reduced, but it is not completely gone. Gathering requested information now.

The moment they found out this was destroying people's computers this should have been top priority for them, but this entire thread has a total of three staff replies...

I can guarantee you, from a trustworthy source, that this thread (as well as the other big thread about the same issue) are monitored by staff members much more than the number of staff replies would imply, and that this issue has been the top priority of the engine team since day one of the EA.
so far no crashes i think they fixed it!

Can you ask your trustworthy source why they did not communicate with us then? Why not come out and tell us that this is top priority and that they are working night and day to fix it. Why did they remove the issue from the "known issues" page after deploying a fix that did not work for all players and systems? Why did they still claim in patches and other updates it was a windows 24h2 problem when this whole thread and the other one proves that it's not.

It's good if it indeed was a top priority. Its just strange not to let everyone know. I lost all hope and thought they had abandoned the issue for good a while back. Keeping my fingers crossed that the latest fix did solve it for good.
So, an update.

Today, I played all day, entirely without POE Uncrasher. The training wheels came off. Zero crashes or CTD. Game played smoothly.

There is hope...
For what it's worth I was able to play on Linux Mint using DirectX12 without crashing or freezing. However when using Vulkan I did freeze. Performance seems comparable to Windows. I have encountered network based lag spikes but I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with my hardware or network.

So it did freeze. So the fixes don't work. Sigh. I doubt different renderers matters. That would have been figured out by now.

I will give it a try myself. But since you are still freezing I suspect the root cause of the crashes haven't been dealt with.
