I use Moonlight to stream the game from my gaming machine. The game freezes, but it also drops the connection (I think due to a GPU hang?). When I arrive at the remote location of my gaming rig, the PC is completely frozen ( the mouse doesn't move) when running Path of Exile 2 btw, and I have to restart it forcefully. Ryzen 9990X. I've had some problems with other games, but after returning it back to stock (disabling "AI overclocking" and selecting a different EXPO profile) that fixed it, but not in this game. Turning off GPU scheduling didn't help either. It seems to be a bug in the game hopefully it can be fixed soon, but I was hoping to play this weekend and here I find myself in the forums... Well at least I PAID for the game. Geez, thanks for setting such a great precedence for all future PAID releases of EARLY ACCESS crap.

This is an issue with the 24H2 update and is no way GGG's fault. Microsoft is at fault for putting out a botched update and then taking it off stable builds.

This is false

People with 23H2 builds are having the same problems, myself included.

Yes, I reverted back 23h2 and still crashing. This was a waste of time 🤣 This is not a windows problem !

He, Tinker's Tools not appearing (in-game item) bug was immediately acknowledged by devs earlier today but this game breaking issue not ...

This is sad.
I did update to NV driver 566.36 between betas and the full game, that might be part of it.

So far no issues while using Vulkan but it looks like some others still are, so I'm prepared for more...

It is clearly a problem with the cpu usage. Deactivating 2 cores via taskmanager helps to not hard-freeze and be able to quit out of the game, but more than often the problem occures right after the next start... so a pc restart is often necessary. I really hope GGG puts this on the agenda! It is a real problem.

After reading thru some comments, I am trying the Win 7 compatibility mode stuff. I really hope this helps.

Let us know how you get on with the Windows 7 compatibility method, others have been praising it.

Ok, will go to bed now..
But until now no more hard freezes!!

For reference:
AMD 7800X3d
RTX 4090
Locked the game at 80 FPS (was 140-150 b4)
used Windows 7 compatibility mode on the .exe in the steam folder

Will test again tomorrow, but until now: might work!

Same problem. Hopefully this gets fixed becuase its really pissing me off.
Hard locks on loading screens to new zones. Its for sure a poe problem i play many other games and never had to hard reset my pc via reset button.
Also having this issue. It's gotta be a transient load being applied.

It's also gotten worse. I was able to play the game for an hour or two without a crash, but now I'm completely unable to launch the game.

Absolutely wild GGG is not acknowledging this issue.
Chiming in on Win 10 22H2.

Similar issues, game locks up with audible audio buffer for a moment. PC stays somewhat usable but unable to kill the process (window closes but process remains visible in Taskmanager). Unable to shutdown (hard PC lock on button press) or restart (endless "restarting" spinning circles). Need to hardware reset using the power button.

Happens on DirectX 11/12 and Vulkan especially in Hunting Grounds.
Multithreading disable / Win7 compatability / x64 exe did not help long term.
Limiting CPU cores did not change the symptoms.

Also, during crash no exceptional CPU usage in Taskmanager, but spike in SSD load?

Specs:
Win 10 Pro 64bit 22H2
Intel i7-9750H
Nvidia Quadro T2000 (Enterprise Driver 566.03)
16Gb RAM
2TB SSD as game drive

Tried everything you did and have the same result. I also reverted win update and still crashing. This is definitely not a windows problem. On steam forums there are like hundreds of people with the same problem. It’s crazy that the dev have not acknowledged the problem.

BES(Battle Encoder Shirasé) has been the only solution for me so far. I limited it to 95% and sometimes the game will hang my PC for like 5 seconds, and recovers shortly after.
