Hard crashing PC locks up

9800X3D
3070
DX12
Windows 11 24H2

Disabling Nvidia Overlay and enabling Vulkan seemed to have fixed the issue for me, no more PC freezing. It's possible that Vulkan was the reason as when I still had DX12 it was still freezing.

What seems to be working for me is limiting the processors when changing zones (in the task manager I set affinity to three of my processors and once I load in I set it back to all, if you want to try this it is in the details tab and right click to "set affinity"). From the research I have done this seems to be an issue with the multi threading function.

GL all, and best of luck to the devs and engineers who make this game a possibility
Running theme in this thread I see...

Windows 24H2 <---- This
Nvidia RTX 3080
i7-10700K
64GB

Could flip a coin on load screens to replicate this. Reliability monitor has no logs of the crash, the force restart is all that shows up.

Reckon it is due to the new Windows "improve the FPS AI feature" or whatever it is? Dunno... just feels bad :(
same issue 7800x3d 4070 super Win24H2 pls fix GGG

I hope it will be added. This should definitely be a very high priority issue due to the ability to break a player's computer through constant manual restarting.

Well, serious issues like this, complete PC crashes will be #1 reasons why some players quit and refund the game. If you can't even play the game, and you are afraid of destroying your PC, that is a way bigger problem than a bug with quest.

That's true. Here's hoping we're going to hear something from GGG over the day.
None of the hotfixes solved this. I just played for a few hours and then crashed.

This issue should become #1 priority imo.
