poe1 considered GOAT by who? 99% of gamers don't want to play the mindless zooomfest that is poe1. if poe1 is such a great game it would be reaching a higher audience and yet it's not. it reached a ceiling.
poe2 is an entirely separate entity and if you do not like meaningful methodical combat where enemies take time and effort to kill then just quit.
poe2 is not for everyone but in the end it will have many more players than poe1 by a significant margin.
90% of the whiners are people who just want it to be more like poe1. sorry, i'd quit poe2 just like i quit poe1 if that zoomfest garbage happened.

I'm starting to believe in the dead internet theory after good comments about poe 2
This is GGG's "vision":
1) A couple of builds are playable in the game
2) only today the trade was fixed
3) huge meaningless layouts
4) dead endgame (20% of poe 1)
5) everything is impossibly slow
6) No drop at all
7) a stupid rolling system
8) difficult acts
9) No move skills
10) just a couple of unique items that are playable
11) variability of skills and builds (if all are balanced) 30% of poe 1
12) the economy is killed by dupes and abusers
13) the most profitable is to reset bosses of Act 6
14) There is no canonical drop. What's to be happy about? Just mirror and headhunter?
15) Pure party game (much more quantity and rarity in the party, you can resurrect party members on bosses)
16) 0 crafting in game. Just Regal orb + Ex
I sincerely don’t understand how, despite having data on Ruthless in PoE 1, they made no conclusions.
What does GGG do? They nerf builds, even though they promised not to touch anything at all.
Regarding your point on GGG promising not to touch, I disagree, Jonathan had an interview before launch and he said that if a skill was stupidly broken that they would nerf it, so far that's the only nerfs that have done is stuff that was broken and wasn't intended to be that way in the first place.
Regarding endgame, there's still plenty to do. Plenty of maps to run and a couple of league mechanics etc... Your post comes across as if this was an official game release, not early access. If something is early access, you need to judge it as early access. You aren't being fair because you are judging it as an official complete game release, not early access, and there's a huge difference. Your comments would have been fair had they come after the official game release, but now they just come across as a whiney player who's mad because the game isn't in the state that you want it to be in yet. Come back after the official release and then if everything is still the same, you'll have every right to complain.
As someone already in maps, the game feels no better. People that say it's just Early Access, are wild. They've had over 10 years of experience on PoE1, they've tried to introduce ruthless, archnem, slow down loot, all these things being bashed right now, etc. They had multiple PoE2 betas where the general concensus was that all the stuff that is being slammed right now, is bad and should be different. This IS for the most part, the game that GGG wants to exist - the didn't stumble here, they have intentionally pushed for this for years and ignored feedback and the things that made their game great in exchange for 'the vision'. Barring bug fixes and slight tuning, but those don't change the entire gameplay loop.
The criticism is perfectly valid for a game company with 10+ years in the exact same genre, who took the parts of their previous game that garnered mostly dislike and decided to funnel that into a new game. Also ignoring the fact that GGG is experienced, have already had constant feedback on how this current gameplay loop is generally despised, and so on - early access changes are like I said previously, generally just bug fixes and slight tunings. Not overhauls.
PoE2 is easy, it's just boring and tedious and unrewarding. The exact opposite of the reason PoE1 is considered the GOAT. It keeps happening to ARPGS, Last Epoch, Lost Ark, D4. All these games introduce slower gameplay loops to make things 'more impactful'. I'm a bit cynical so it seems more like an excuse to try to increase playtime for the average gamer dad, so they hopefully buy more microtransactions during their slow(nothing wrong with this, enjoy your gameplay kings) playthrough. Let me be clear, even with all this. PoE2 is cool, but I'm letdown because it's not a game I imagine playing multiple seasons for - which is the intent of these live service ARPG games. It feels more like a one and done game, which they definitely don't want so why in the world did they make it feel so bad.

Yeah, good luck with taking "time and effort" every 3 month. O, wait, these "hard(tedoius)" game enjoyers will not come back or buy pacs every league, that I am sure of.
"It will totaly be more popular, guys, there are a lot of people willing to spend 3000+ hours doing THIS, for sure."

99%? Are you pretty sure?
Why didn't you play ruthless mode? It's literally the same, maybe even better so far. LOL.

Whenever I read things like this I wonder how can they be so sure of things, I don't like to make the dark souls comparison because just because the game is slower and has a roll doesn't make it dark souls, but that game demonstrated that players like different types of challenge, and that they will come back and play it as much as they can to feel challenged, for poe1 players the challenge was in building broken builds that can zoom and clear the game in seconds to farm as fast as you can, I liked it for a bit but then it became piano difficulty and lost all the appeal to me, poe2 focus seems to be more in making all the enemies feel meaningful, not just overtuned rares and pinnacle bosses, I love it and will for sure come back for it, and I'm not a new poe player I've been playing for more than a decade. Jonathan, the game director, said that new players did better in poe2 than veteran poe1 players, why? because veteran players went in expecting to play poe1 and got screwed, new players went in trying to learn a new game and did well and had a good time, I don't know if poe2 is gonna be massively successful and make them millions or make them crash and burn but for sure is a fun game that poe1 players need to take their poe1 brain out of the game and learn it as well.

If you game is only challange and nothing more - i can't see people realy coming back. How many people actualy play Elden Ring regulary? When I have a mood for a challenge - I play a new souls-like, for example, get a new experience, and move on. I do not play action rpg to constantly feel miserable, the challenge in poe1 is to play a build, browse poe ninja for ways to improve it, analyze, compare, get the items - and then just kill things and relax, getitng showered in loot. Then again try to improve it with all the currency you farmed while relaxing. In POE2 i can see the fun and challenge in beating the game once, but I can't see anyhing worth spending my time further. Will I ever be powerful? Will I be able to enjoy just destoying the packs and get interesting loot? For now, i don't see it and have little hope, seeing dev's attitude

More stronger and less white pollution screen mobs = heathier game experience.

I think that the issue is that you think that "beating the game" is finishing the campaign, for me really beating this game would be to finish the pinnacle bosses, sometimes I make it sometimes don't, it's always a challenge even in poe1, and while I have played this game for years I'm by no means an expert, I'm just another casual, while I look at builds in poe1 I usually adapt it to what I like and play it my way, it helps me with the tree that is the most complicated part but the rest of the build is mine, I love this combat, and with decent gear you still blow everything up quite fine, I haven't had any issues till now playing and while he game is not easy I expected a better attitude from poe players.

Why are people praising poe1's sheer amount of bloat in the endgame? It became too MUCH. It became confusing, obfuscating itself behind layers of bullshit that pulled you one way and another. It was not fun. It was overwhelming.
