POE 2: Class Gender Lock is a Step Backwards
Just wanted to post and say: I fully support gender locked classes.

Why do you even have a need to change the gender of a character? What's even the point? Are you one of those weirdos who insert themselves as the characters you play? I don't understand it, I'll never understand it, it's just weird as hell to me. This game doesn't even have a character creator, introducing just the gender change option is stupid, pointless and a waste of resources.
I fully support creative freedom, and if devs don't want to, they shouldn't have to. Especially if the characters are part of the lore and not some randoms. Just wear some MTX, shine like a bright sun. You barely can see what gender a character is if you wear MTX. |

Well, I usually play a sorc and in, for example, D4, I can choose male or female but almost all of the armour looks like I am wearing a satin dress so I don't really care either way :)

" First world problems. Don't get me wrong, you have the right to have your opinion. I just find it more efficient for the devs to invest development time in meaningful features instead of having to rig double the amount of character models just for that. |

over reacting: maybe a little.
i would prefer the choice between gender. and i ll repeat my self and mention a better option is allow players just to choose any character model they want. for example a witch class using a monk model. in cutscenes, the game can refer to us as exile/saviour etc so pronoun/classes dont matter to begin with [Removed by Support]

This is an RPG your playing an already established character in the story.
That's like playing a Harry Potter game and wanting to change Harry Potters Gender. |

" in traditional diablo clones/likes, the character/hero is rarely the focal point. in fact, making them named actually could take away from their value. for an example in poe, the entire complex skill tree exists to let players play THEIR OWN hero. their own build. if the game was character focused, the tree should be neutered down and have skills and weapon types be class locked. for sure if you play a harry potter game you want to play harry potter or his companions. similarly if you play a fighting game, you would learn to love each character as unique characters. but for diablo clones, its always nameless characters. we play "ourselves". or whatever that we gravitate to. and especially for POE, there is no real class identity. once you gear up, there are NO class restricted armors or class restricted weapons. but in poe2 the difference is we do have class specific skills and transformations. beyond that everything is superficial. You aren't playing YOURSELF.
You are playing a person in exile. You just get to chose how their life goes afterwards. It is their story, not yours. |

hundreds of MTX to look like the craziest demonic or full on clown, but for some reason people have a hangup on this... just boggles the mind.

Another post about gender locks from someone who apparently doesn't even play this game.
How are you even assuming their gender if that is even what you mean? Do you know what you are asking for? You are asking why something that is invisible, isn't on display and why isn't it something you can toggle. I think you actually mean is "I want typical female and male body type choices for each class". [Removed by Support] I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
