There's one little problem though: I don't need any store points. And why should I be forced to purchase points (or anything else for that matter), to gain beta testing access to a game that claims it is free to play?

Letting everyone in from the beginning would result in servers capacity issues, a lot of complaints, and a week later, after everyone finish campaign and a bunch of maps, an almost dead game. This in the happy scenario where everything works perfectly.
