it's a job not a game
" The game became already heavily easier over the past years and also less grindy in many aspects. Endgame accessibility is easier than ever, player power is strong and easy accessible with all the added power creep and no real adjustments to the existing game content in terms of difficulty buffs or heavy player nerfs. Ways to grind something became a lot easier just with the last large atlas rework and scarab rework. Kinda just a skill issue or lack of practice or experience for those that still struggle with the game in the current state, more so sad if the player is a veteran and should have all the bare bone knowledge. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid#4643 on Oct 2, 2024, 12:08:26 AM

So why gauntlet racers build to tank?

reading OP's title and reading the description i feel a disconnect between the title and content.
i dont want poe to feel like work but thats what its become where the fomo is really intense. i have to end my day knowing i barely have enough gold to cover my night's sleep and if i would need to play a lot during the weekends so that my town continues production thru out the week. but the content of OP's post talking about fixing defences etc. i kinda feel thats not "a job". thats part of the game. i like to think arpgs as a semi puzzle game where working out how to mix and match our gear to make things work is an enjoyable part of the game. " Yeah few years ago I could kill everything with a tabula rasa without random deaths. You were fine with like 100k-200k dmg overall. Nowadays Boss dmg is balanced around having Spell Supression, you need a decent Lifepool, need decent Evaision or Armor rating, need at least 1 defensive gem setup, need at least few millions of damage (this part got easier over the years thats true but balancing the defense at the same time is the tough part) and so on this list could go longer. Yep the game got so much easier over the years. |

" how i'd put it. the game became harder because the devs added new content that was exponentially harder. the game became "easier" in the sense that its easier to tackle the hard content now. personally i feel pre maven was the best "state" of difficulty in poe. 100-200k dps was little BUT you could do shaper/elder with 100-200k dps somewhat. as a tru melee enjoyer, i can say with the recent changes to the game, i've been able to progress much further in this league compared to others. i m also progressing faster too. so yeah the game is easier for me but i do acknowledge and understand what you mean in your response. the game definitely did get harder too [Removed by Support]

" lol exactly. years ago spell suppression was not even a thing and 75% ele res was enough for end game. chaos res as long as it was positive it was enough. now even on my RF chief that has 90% all max ele res and 50% chaos res random one shots happen quite a lot. i can only suspect that its phys dmg even though it has a cloak of flame. game is out of control now, but of course to the people who play all day its still "easy" Last edited by Lyutsifer665#1671 on Oct 2, 2024, 2:52:13 AM

lol at the usual suspects hard gaslighting about game becoming easier when in reality you need more defensive layers and damage than ever
When fallacious arguments aren't convincing comes the biased moderation.

There is some miscommunication going on here.
1. "The base game is more difficult" which it is. 2. "The game's gear progression is easier, making the entire game easier" which is also true especially in temp. trade league. More defensive layers are required but they're easier to get than ever. However, it still requires some knowledge and if you only ever copy&paste builds from others without adjusting anything specifically for the content you're running, you'll have a bad time. Also, if you only ever ran alch&go T16s and never used anything that would add more difficulty to your maps, you're likely far, far away from T17s knowledge-wise. One thing I'm surprised at the most is how dirt cheap almost all of the defensive uniques are this league. A lot of them have just ben sitting at 1c for the entire league. |

" Exactly, the checklist for builds to be "viable" is ever-growing, years ago you just needed a decent 6-link and 75 res and some flasks with ailment removal and you were good. 1 mil dps was considered great if you wanted quality of life, but the game was definitely playable even with 100-500k. I used to play ED Contagion a long time ago, but haven't touched that build since because I know how horrible bossing would feel on it. |

Yea its like they ... added things to the game.
And made chaos resistance and actual mechanic. And made it so your flasks couldnt give you perma immune to curses. What are these talking points lmfao Mash the clean Last edited by Mashgesture#2912 on Oct 2, 2024, 9:38:22 AM
