Defence feels worse then ever before.

There is no fixing physical defence mitigation.

Endurance charges are not enough. even with higher armour bases and hp rolls they have destroyed the real defences against physical damage. physical to and elemental or chaos. This allowed more ability to build stronger defences.

stacking a bad defence higher does not make it better.

armour literally is worse off the higher the investment into it.

and even with hitting 90% phys mitigation, you still fall over like paper.

The nerf to defence was a nerf to damage. Most people don't understand that so most recieved it without complaint.

The direction they are moving is totally into just glass cannon stuff.

There is no such thing as a tank build in this league especially.

There is the growing attitude of killing of players.

Pretty soon people will move on to games where they actually feel powerful.

Good thing you can use boats to get your currency cause you can't map using your builds.

build diversity is in actually in the toilet too. The same skills with different characters isn't build enabling.

if you ever pigeon hole yourself so bad that it feels like a job, QUIT.

I'm serious, stop trying to compare to what others do or what others get, just do what you want to do, and if it doesn't work don't try so hard to "fix it", move on...better yet, stop playing PoE and do something else, play another game then come back fresh and a bit more open minded or with fresh perspective.

Their whole "we want to kill our players" philosophy in designing the game is pretty bad. Its never fun when you die in 0.001 seconds to some random combination of archnemesis mods or something. You're definitely not alone in this. There's a reason people always stack the same spell suppress,max block etc. etc. on every build(wow I sure love having the same checklist for every build, such diversity much wow) and before people used to stack as many phys to ele mods as possible before they nerfed it recently making it only be available on 1 item you wear I think. If people go around through so many hoops to flat out ignore physical damage, then yes physical defenses are bad then.

And ofc players will start to have the mentality "why even invest hundreds of divines into a build for defenses when I can just get more dps and kill the mobs before they touch me? Why be tanky enough to ignore mechanics on bosses when I can just insta phase the boss so it does no mechanics?". Ofc people will lean more into glass-cannon playstyles when this game has such aggressive design like archnemesis, annoying on-death effects and even forcing "hardcore" mechanics onto sc players like exp penalty and so on, if you're gonna die to random oneshots anyway no matter what you do you might aswell go all in on damage. Doesn't help that they make dying so overly punishing even when you play sc(losing portals,losing entire bosses if its only 1 portal for it, losing 10% exp at high levels,losing your entire team of shippers/mappers in the current league), that's like punishing a player for picking easy mode in a game. Makes 0 sense lol


All of this feedback is just based on my experience playing in sc trade.
Defense is terrible

There is no doubt the best is to avoid the game.

Yellow mobs used to be fun.
i don't even engage i fire one shot .. if i don't see the health bar move ...
keep going

I don't use the alters I don't spawn mobs EVER
you cannot trust the game to spawn "fair" mobs so smart move is ... don't engage.

The best defense without a doubt... a big gun!
When the Uber dies in 6 seconds... who cares what you are wearing...
.... who cares if you have resists....

You don't need what you don't use....
And with DPS you don't use you defensive stats at all ....

I honestly believe they will jump the shark soon.
You never see it coming until after it arrives .

More and more of the game is not worth engaging in .
Most of the skill tree is not worth engaging in .

Most of the sub classes are not worth taking.
Most content is not worth doing .

Map bosses are not bosses anymore as 90% of the time 3 yellows I passed outside the boss room could destroy it.

Dying to one shots is rampant because of poor UI and communication of risk ...
The AN mobs are cancer and not listed as a threat on the map information so essentially a hidden grenade in a map .

Dying is so punishing that there is no reason to ever assume any risk.
Timing all of your risky activity to right after a level up is lame.

All of the game is negative ....

Where is "favorable winds your boats arrive in 1/2 the time"
or a spontaneous promotion of a worker to a level higher...

Perhaps you roll a map .. monsters all suffer temporal chains....

Its all degenerating into a one shot fest for the monsters and a DPS response from players.

But in the end .. its just not as fun.
This league was supposed to be a renaissance for melee .... It wasn't
because , melee use their defensive stats ... or lack of ... and insta die...

I mean i hate sounding like a lemon all the time .. but I got burned out trying to make a cyclone build work... the need to get into the center of the mobs makes it less viable than trash ranged builds...

Go for it GGG wussies common I dare ya ....
be fair....
The inverted aura ..... the further you are away the faster you die.... the less damage you do ... standing on the mob is safe from aura... and put it on the ones that tunnel.

And about 90% phys mitigation - thats not your actual phys mitigation, thats only vs an average white monster hit. Not using a PoB community fork in year 2024 to see your max physical hit taken is shooting yourself in the foot.

Well yeah, but imo the game should provide you with all the accurate stats instead of lying to you. People shouldn't have to use so many 3rd party programs and websites just to know their actual tankyness or dps lol. Dps tooltips on most spells in the game are also just super inaccurate. If someone looks at that 90% phys reduction and assumes it means what its saying on the screen, I don't blame that person. I blame the game's bad UI.
