What is path of building creators waiting for ?
There is actually one other answer to the OP, explaining what he clearly doesn't know.
THe PoB creators are probably waiting for the full numbers on the new gems, not just the level 20 versions: because (unless they were to code it all more than once) they don't know how most of the various gems will scale with levels. Even more so with the supports. Aside from the simplest (More Duration) these may well not be linear with level. Then there's the exact new tree JSON, and new item details and ranges, and the precise numbers for many item changes if these weren't given. And of course there's a LOT of work updating the revised existing items, possibly with more coding too even if this is probably mostly config. So they're waiting for all this info before they can code, test and release. That said, it is a devastatingly ignorant, self-centred and arrogant comment to make, for reasons already detailed by many others. Looking for a mature guild to play with?

Hey, lighten up OP. The devs of Path of Building provide this tool free of charge to the community out of the goodness of their heart. They have no obligations to you, me or anybody else. I am grateful for all of their hard work. The only excuse I can think of for your rash comments is that you probably don't have a clue as to how much work is really involved.
I worked in IT for more than 20 years as a programmer, analyst and sys admin. So, while I may have a pretty good idea of how much work is involved, I know that those on the outside often have no idea. It all seems so easy from their personal perspective. So please be gentle, respectful and patient OP. Last edited by Trenary#4444 on Jul 25, 2024, 5:06:09 PM

The recent drama with PoB near monetization that blew up reddit today was interesting.
It's all the more reason GGG should take this more seriously. THere are community tools, and then there are Community Tools. I mean these are volunteer community players. If for any reason Neversink or Local Identity just decided to stop leading up to a league, this would be a disaster for GGG. How they leave this as an operational gap is beyond me. That said, OP still wildly ungrateful imo. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

^neversink has PLENTY of competition. Still great, but if he were to stop tomorrow the ripples will be very small. But PoB does not have competition. GGG should have implemented a PoB-like program directly into the game 10 years ago.
Loot filters will ALWAYS be the domain of 3rd party users. As long as loot exists and filters are programmable, an endless number of them can be found. |

" ehhh.. I don't know about that. Surely GGG could have a version of their own. LE does it. They already export the generic Neversink ones (that you can't edit) Also I get the whole PC master race thing, but the game does have console players lol. ^GGG DOES have its own version lol. How else are loot filters created? Where do you think neversink got all the programming data for his preloaded options? It's all provided by GGG, but OPTIMIZED by them. Its not neversink -> GGG....its GGG -> neversink.
"This site is fan-made and not affiliated with Grinding Gear Games in any way." And there is the "standard" loot filter in-game available to everyone. Doesn't really do anything as-is. But just like LE....the REAL filters are 3rd party that you upload into the game. Hardly anyone builds their own from scratch using the system, because others have already done it better than you ever could. In case you weren't aware....loot filters in PoE work exactly the same way they do in LE. The only difference is the editor for LE is directly in-game whereas PoE's is located outside of the game. Another eye opener....there are THOUSANDS of loot filters that aren't neversink available for download from all over the place. Most decent build guides come with a loot filter too that isn't always (or even very rarely) neversink. Neversink just happens to be the most user-friendly way to create your own. GGG isn't going to waste their time making pre-loaded loot filters for every possible archetype build and play style. That will ALWAYS be done by the players. Its the case in LE, its the case in this game, its the case in all games with loot filters. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Jul 25, 2024, 6:00:55 PM

^^
I'm fairly certainly those are not GGG's, they still have the Neversink name on them in game, they are just utilizing them as official generic options in the options menu. I don't know, maybe we are splitting hairs here, but Neversink is not a GGG employee. I don't know, I guess they save money this way? But eh, they are too big for that now, at least that's imo. But whatever, this was more about PoB anyways. I'm certainly no loot filter expert, I've only ever used Neversink, and even then very minor edits. I'm not going to die on this hill. If you think Neversink is small potatoes easily replaced, then I will take your word for it. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

^I appreciate that.
https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/create this exists btw, in case you didn't know. It is how all filters are fundamentally created, including Neversink's. It does have meaning though that Neversink is thought to be THE game filter....when it isn't. GGG needs to do better advertising and make it more prominently displayed and editable. Same process as LE, less user-friendly. That's why Neversink is a smaller horse in the 3rd party PoE world. If you learn the language, it's actually easier and faster (imo) to create your own filter from scratch than to use neversink presets and going through all the lists. I'd also point out that Neversink is the most represented single entity on the "Popular item filters" (https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/ladder/follower), but there are more non-neversink filters there overall showing that it ISN'T that crucial to the game. (not that I'm denying their excellent and incredibly useful tools) PoB though....there is no GGG option. Nor are there any other alternatives, except things like maxroll and another character planner that I'm forgetting at the moment. Neither work as well as PoB though.
