Those of you who are worried that PoE2 is straying too far from its roots...

All I wanted from POE 2 was the new gem socket mechanic, a new campaign and new characters. Thats all it took to sell me on POE 2. Now they've strayed so far off the path with the dodge roll, skill combos, dual elements, weapon swapping for different skills, intentionally slower gameplay, environmental mechanics that never work or pan out in any game, that it almost feels like Grim Dawn. I was also under the impression that all the skills from POE 1 would also stay in tact which does not seem to be the case.

*applause*

That's what I've been trying to say. PoE 2 doesn't look like it's made for us.

Grim Dawn is a very good game though, been having a blast. They just released a massive patch and we'll probably get a huge DLC in 2024. I don't think PoE 2 can even come close to it in terms of a lot of primary arpg aspects

You've only played during Bestiary, Incursion and Synthesis leagues, and even in those you have like 10 challenges, so you probably played them for like 1-2 weeks and quit. You haven't played a single league after Synthesis. You're not a "veteran".

Someone who hates the zoom zoom meta of PoE 1 wouldn't be playing PoE 1 in the first place, and you're the living proof of it.

I play Standard. I've been here since Warbands.

Would you like to see some videos of what "fast clearspeed" in Warbands looked like?

Standard league isn't "Path of Exile".

I also cant wait for PoE2. I prefer the gameplay feel of D4 over PoE's but diablo is to shallow in every aspect for me to switch over. PoE2 seems to fix that issue. D4 gameplay with PoE character building, thats what i want. I dont care about zoom meta, sometimes i take my time with maps and it takes me like 15 minutes to complete one, i tend to engage with league mechanics as i go through campaign resulting in 10-15h time to reach maps. Im here for character building, some bosses, progression etc, i dont give a shit about efficiency or fast paced gameplay. Hell, most of the time i dont even use quicksilver flask.

I can understand. But then why don't you play Last Epoch or Grim Dawn? I'm genuinely curious, those games fit your requests and preferences way better than PoE does.

Character building and progression are tied to your speed in PoE. You're not going anywhere if you can't farm currency.

I'll take that as a "yes" to my question.

Some of us remember when this was as fast as builds could go. Some of us didn't mind it.

why dont bring times when we had only 3 acts to play or 4 acts? that was slow game. but still was fast as hell
but this is not slow in videos :D
but dont tell you forget about builds that clear half a map with 1 attack :D
and we did not have that many tools that we have today

PoE 2 seems like game for everyone who didnt play PoE. Us, veterans, will most likely stay with PoE.

I dont have any plans to come back to PoE1 after PoE2 is released so speak for yourself.
