No hardcore events? What?
"They already kind of know how many people want HC. They have plenty of data on that. What they have less data on is how many of those are willing to play SC trade instead if there is no HC. If they look at the players and their playing history (whether they are HC players or no, more complex than I can put into a few words) they will get some data on this. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Let's imagine a world without HC mode for PoE - i'm certainly leaving, and i never in 7k hours of playing said any QQ stuff about "boo changes are bad im leaving bye"
Wow you reminded me the gem change (previously they were only drops, no NPC buying) and holy cow i was sad to see that they made gems buyable from NPC's. Probably the most sad i've felt in all my PoE gaming history |

No HC = no PoE.
Brainless Cookie Clicking Simulator (SC) is a waste of time for me. Playing SC you ignore a HUGE part of deeply put in-game mechanics, you just don't care about anything, just pew-pew-pew, run-run, pew-pew and nothing more. |

Meanwhile SC players get to enjoy to play around with all the items and stupid build ideas. That alone makes it far more superior than hc will ever be. Cause EA,RF,boneshatter and srs are the only diversity hc knows about since leagues hoho. Not to mention you guys also cookie click the shit out of hc with your cute logout macros. WAnt real reason why there are no HC events? Because even most streamers who kept it a live by competing in "race" each league already left it. Does any of them even still play HC (or PoE in general) other than Ziz?

" That's why you see so little build diversity amongst the community, same as little to no items cause some content is simply close to untouched because it's "too dangerous" to play for the reward you get? It's not a new concept that some builds simply don't have the opportunity to get on the same offensive and defensive level like some builds with close to no afford. Hence you also see the same boring league starter builds over and over again in both HC and SC. Hc players wouldn't play the same stuff each league or use logout macros if they were actually skilled any beyond the level of sc players. Yet most of the hc community settles down with the same endgame and league starter builds each league and avoid their death multiple times via macro. And I mean reaching level 70 isn't really a huge accomplishment cause you can get that done in the campaign with any skill on a shoelace budget without any links or up to a 3 link. Using a unique to get through the campaign is already pretty generous and easier. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

The second part is that PoE community is praising streamers as gods of everything. Even if they do shit, they still praise. If streamer plays skill A - it's automatically god-tier skill. If streamer uses this farming strategy - it's automatically the best strategy. If streamer does something else - it's auto superb. PRAISE! Do you remember how some fellow on Dan's stream asked his permission to put his ballas in his mouth? "PRAISE LOL POG"(c)twitch generation. But this logic only works for trash-tier players. That is a problem! Because the game offers plenty of mechanics ignored by the vast majority of players. For example we have a lot of viable builds on HC according to poe.ninja even molten strike and coc cyclone. Sure complete dumb builds are not viable but! HC TESTS your build. It is not just pick whatever you want and do whatever you want. Even completely broken things are viable on SC, but HC throws the gauntlet to you and your decisions.
