Trade chat is indeed archaic, but it's still fun to many people the same way townhall democracy is way more interesting than national politics.

For myself, and probably anybody with a computer more than two years old, having trade chat up during gameplay is not an option due to massive drop in FPS.

*Trade-Disabled Cutthroat

Although I'm against a Self-Found League, and technically against a trade-disabled Cutthroat, I think adding the rule "trading is disabled in town" would be very interesting for Cutthroat. Making it still possible, while simultaneously making it much more risky, would really add to the cutthroat feel.

I've mentioned this before, but I would come back to the game and probably even sink more real money into it if there were a self-found league where drops were increased.

I do minor trades, usually currency-to-currency or for gems. I know it's brutally inefficient but I enjoy crafting; I almost never craft from scratch, but I'll find some good rare gloves but they're 2S so I'll Jeweler and Fuse them up, maybe trade some GCPs for Fuses, stuff like that. I've recently completed a 5L bow this way, and although I didn't find 5L to be beyond what I'd find acceptable, it was close enough that I know I wouldn't want to try my luck crafting a 6L, and that I definitely don't want to splurge on a 6L just to upgrade out of it soon after. So I'm saving up to eventually trade for a very, very good one, multiple Exalts in value, while kind of hoping a 6L just drops for me (I had a 5L Grove Bow drop natural, which was pretty cool for building my current archer but it's a low-level bow unfortunately and I've since upgraded past it).

I actually dumped about 115 Fusings into getting my recent 5L, trading away my self-found Exalt to do so. I could have bought a nearly identical 5L bow (third-party shops indexer research) for 1 Exalt, so I'm down a small handful of Fuse, not too bummed about it.

Totally for Self found, Ive never been a trader and love letting the rng guide my character.
