The Self Found League

+1 of it's no trading/dropping whatsoever.
I played PoE Beta when it came out but I stopped playing because I dont like the trading system at all. I don't want to post Items on the forums or the chat and trade them and I don't want to buy items over it. I don't like the system at all. The only 2 options I'd play this game again would be a) an auction house or b) the selffound league.

But tbh I dont think they will implement something like this.
i dont like the idea.

you want to force others to play by the rules YOU ARE SUGGESTING.

why not gather a bunch of friends and play self found rules on your own?

Requiring a league just so everyone else that plays are forced to those rules sounds selfish.

Plus you are totally able to play self found in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE LEAGUES.

1. please read the first post again. this is supposed to be a SEPARATE league. nobody is forced to play it.

2. i would love to grab some friends to play self found. there is no self found league though and playing in standard self found is kinda impossible/way to difficult to be worth the effort/stupid

3. yes you can play self found in any league but that is not the point. by a similar argument you can play hardcore in standard league as well. for the 1000th time on this thread this is a suggestion for a league like standard (same difficulty) but balanced for no trading.
Hey this is a signature! pretty cool stuff...yeah...

How do you come to that conclusion, BuDiu? Does the existence of the hardcore league force anyone to play in it rather than standard? Does the existence of the marauder force people to not play templar?

Respectfully, give some thought to what you are saying here and I think you'll see that it's rather nonsensical.

Guess you don't have to be smart to have lots of spare money...
Yup.

So, one of the things possibly barring making this league a reality is the potential to be easier to play through than the default league. But as far as I know this is only necessary because temporary leagues transfer characters back to the default league when they end.

As it is, we would have to be asking for a new permanent league alongside standard and hardcore.

Something like that would probably have to have a lot of demand in order to be implemented, like permanent allocation in parties level of demand.
I like the idea and i would play this league if it has a hardcore version of it.

Yeah, but in a Self-Found League it's 100% provable you got your items on your own where people will believe you. What credit and accomplishment is there to gain doing a self-found thing only yourself will appreciate and "whoa!" at? No credit or much of an accomplishment at all.

Self-Found League would be a League notably for pro / elite players. Just because everyone would be forced to go by the rules of self-found, doesn't mean that's a selfish thing at all, no pun intended.

That's dumb as saying it's selfish in that everyone has to go by the rules to be careful and not be a noob and die in the HC and Onslaught Leagues. It's not selfish, it's just part of the rules. What good is a game without some form of challenging rules or precautions to take?

Think on that for a while and you be the judge.
When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails.
Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism
does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect.

Granted it's implemented, why would GGG make a new League via Self-Found League only to make it as easy or easier to play than any other League? That's really dumb. Let's be realistic in that the challenge of Self-Found League would be in that no Trading is allowed and is just as hard, if not, harder than any other League played, especially if there's an HC Self-Found League. GGG has already made it quite clear in the forums that any new League released will be harder than the next one, not made any easier.

So what! It would not be that hard to code, I assure you, to make a few tweaks to add in the limitations for the Self-Found League. All GGG has to do is CnP the code, etc. from the Standard League, and remove the code regarding Trading so it's not permitted. It's not like a huge overhaul of work to add this League in. You're looking at 2-3 hours of work, MAYBE. That's nothing!

Allocation control via by a Party Leader has already been implemented; however, I do agree Permanent Allocation should be on, always, for the Self-Found League.

And I think 13,000+ hits is significant enough to be implemented in that this Thread's title obviously sparked thousands of people's interests. Seeings how a lot of people are observers of forums and not exactly participators, I think almost 500 comments is good enough to convince GGG this League is a great idea. Of the 500 people in these commentaries, you're looking at over 74% of people, at least, who agree with it opposed to those who disagree.

Let's also not forget of the people who disagree don't entirely disagree with the Self-Found League in that they're neutral toward the idea of it, thinking it's a great idea while at the same time their other biased half gets in the way so as to question but not doubt the idea of a Self-Found League.
