The Self Found League

I think you people would play less POE because the droprate would be higher, there is no incentive to keep playing if you have found all the good stuff and have to grind to lvl 100 which isn't good enough.

You don't have to trade in POE unlike in D3 where its pretty much a must, so please don't compare the two games, just don't trade with anyone and voila you got trough POE with self found gear. I'm only using self found gear atm btw.

Ofc you can play as self found in default. There is no need to tell us. Anyone knows it. You can also play as hardcore in default, but it is better to play in hardcore league. So is better to play as self found in self found league.

About increasing items / currency drop rate. I'm not real supporter of this (I'm not against either). What is good gear is relative to the drop rate, trade options, game difficulty and what other players have. There is always better gear to look forward to. GGG said that new leagues will be have only harder rules than default not easier. So I think, self found with increased drop rate is hard to bring into life. There is also option to few new vendor recipes as compensation.

Playing with self-found rules on Standard is more difficult than playing with trading. So a self found league with no other modifications is per-se more difficult than Standard. The difference between the two, we will call "D". What Self Found league asks is that D be wiped away, and we have a difficulty-neutral league, designed without trading in mind.

It's not obvious at all what the value of D is. I subjectively know, however, that the value of D is "high". Very high. With some caveats. I won't mention those here.

Well you are talking about difficulty of the league and you are right about that. But GGG were talking about difficulty of each rule not about combination of rules. But it is long time ago. We will see.

Just wanted to say I would love to see a self found league with drop rates balanced around this.

I'd love it to be honest. I have always played self-found as I find it to be the most rewarding style of play.

I understand this is a popular idea, but is creating a whole new league really the answer? What stops you from simply turning off trade chat and not trading items? It seems unreasonable to assert that the devs should do a bunch of extra work to achieve the same result as having a little self-control in-game.
