If you did have to, then a self found league wouldnt even work.

That's the whole point: to make SFL work through appropriate buffs to drops and crafting. Since that was said very clearly early in this thread, all I can say in response is ... "woosh."

I like the idea of finding my own gear rather than via trade chat spam or using cash via a 3rd party web site. I posted a similar idea called Account Bound Mode (ABM) that doesn't rely on creating a new league which has the advantage of not fragmenting the community. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

This league will produce no meaningful fragmentation of the community. As is evidenced by simply reading this thread, rather than just the first post, most of us here advocating this are already invisible to the community because we don't party or trade. Our presence is impossible to miss. Even if it would fragment the community, so what? The people who are dissatisfied with the game won't stick around just so that people who are satisfied have someone to play with, they'll move on to something else. The fragmentation arguments are weak, at best, in my opinion.

This is why GGG should have folded on the anti-FFA sentiment sooner. It's not like the people who hate FFA are going to stick around just so that the FFA folks can steal their lootz. This is, of course, what the FFA people hope. Same with the pro-PK folks.

We would probably need two of them tho: a self-found HC & self-found "default"

Sounds really cool! I do enjoy trading occasionally, but I understand the frustration you're presenting. When the game stops being about playing and starts being about typing "WTB 4L Boots lvl 70+ chaos res +light res +hp + armour" every two minutes, it gets boring. This league might actually end up with exalted orbs finally being realised as not being all that amazing! :P
