3.16 is disappointing, more powercreep for the wealthy and no toning down of OP content

Roughly 7 million dps is what you need to do everything exept the last waves of simulacrum and ravaged blight maps extremly smooth. You can do everything exept those two things with 3 million if you are tanky or know how to dodge.

This is whining at such a high level like seriously... "omg I cant one tab everything in the game anymore" "I need to actually know how boss fights work and dodge things"...

Ah yes the dodge argument is sound until you get one shot or burst in split second out of nowhere by some rare through all the defenses you have... Or there is just so much shit on screen that the only solution is enough dps to one tap before enemy auras stack and you get one tap. Basically - go away with your "wisdom".
When fallacious arguments aren't convincing comes the biased moderation.

i mean is it grinding "GEAR" games or is it grinding "currency" games?

More currency drops would tip the balance in favour of actually using said currency on gear and maybe it could be a grinding gear game. But right now its totally grinding currency game.

Has been for years. The game has never really been around "using currency".

People like Kripp used to do streams where they blew a hundred chaos orbs on something, or exalted items a dozen times over to get a better roll. But those were outsiders. The majority of people just buy stuff that has either dropped from someone, was crafted for free by someone due to broken orbs or lab mods or just drops from a certain sub league, and so on. So you may have a few people 'crafting' and then selling.

But the fact that people show off thousands of exalts, is a testament of the game. When I started playing on my main in 2013ish, the game used to have people who congratulate you on Chaos orbs, and then people whispered you about "Do not use them! Keep them!". People are hoarding since day one. Why? Because the rarity of currency makes it valuable.

Now I would also vote for making currency more abundant so its used more often - but you and I, we all know how absolutely garbage GGG's game is in terms of RNG, so to get a halfway decent roll, not only do you need a base item of X itemlevel, but also Y amount of currency... and in many cases, for a "good roll", not even increasing the drop rate of chaos orbs by 200x would solve it. You literally need to blow a mirrors worth of chaos orbs on an item to get some rolls to work out.

For some chest plate bases [namely off colors] you need a mirrors worth of chromatic orbs to get the sockets right... and so on and on.

You can see people playing zdps builds in gauntlet right now and most of them definitely can't one tap the screen.

So the only thing to be said.. git gud

Speaking of, gauntlet is dope, feels like a different game.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Do you even understand yourself what you expect from players at this point?

You can always watch 20-30 YT vids explaining mechanics or ask specific questions in gameplay&help.
There are Exiles willing to help out. Im one of them.

The other option is to throw the towel or a tantrum.

Latter one wont get you anywhere. You have to be willing to learn and improve.
The alternative would be expecting the game to be dumbed down and thats not happening. Each league a new mechanic will be introduced and its the players job to stay on top of the game.

You assume I lack some sort of knowledge for some reason. At no point do you stop yourself to consider that perhaps its the opposite - I just have more than you and seen enough bullshit to have enough?

What would you suggest I improve on a build that is like level 83 which gets deleted by a single rare multi-lightning-hit spell that spawned in on top of me in a level 72 heist? Dodge was out of the question, it jus spawn in and perform nuke. I had like 4500 health and maxed resists. I will be honest and tell you I did not have spell supression yet, but if todays baseline is have suppression sorted in level 72 zone then I will have to tell you and the devs to stop kidding yourselves.

It seems to be a common misconception, that people complaining about the game are just lacking knowledge somehow.

For myself I can say that the knowledge I have about the game is one of the reasons, I burn out recently. Because I dont have unlimited time anymore like it used to be a few years back. When wasting hours by trading was not a problem to me since time didn't matter. Now it matters and I know all the logistics (i.e. trading) it takes to have fun in this game. Which is too much for me to enjoy. Just thinking about all the trades needed to reach something in this game makes me burn out ;)
Solutions for me would be SFF (needs to be tuned first) or changes in trade (instant/offline trade for non-eqippable items like sextants, currency, scarabs...)

Look I dont want to argue. Im assuming based of what I know myself.
About 99% of my RIPs are totally my fault. I should have known better, but I wasnt paying attention, pushed the limits too far or whatever else.
Doesnt matter - its usually my fault, end of story.
And so I do in fact assume its the same for everyone else too.

Addressing your defences I cant say Im impressed tbh. 4.5k life and capped res is what I consider the bare minimum at that lvl. You could have added a tempest shield, invested a few points into block nodes and you would have most likely survived that spell.

Im not quite sure what killed you, your description could be anything, but Im assuming its the dreaded ball lightning that will instagib you, if you have no spell suppression, spell block or dodge it manually.
Thats exactly the kind of knowledge Im talking about. You should have known this spell exists and you should have prepared. Thats what this game is about in a nutshell.
If you didnt know, well fair enough but then you learned and should adapt. Sure you might miss out on some dps but if you dont want to die like that, thats the price you have to pay.

What annoys me to no end is that players are very quick to call BS and blame everyone and everything but themselves. You chose the build, you allocated skillpoints, you geared that character etc etc etc.
You could have prevented this, you chose not to and thats not the games fault.

Why dont you take that RIP, learn from it, adopt and improve?
When you start looking at the game like this, you will eventually end up with far more well rounded builds and you wont die to 1shots.
If it was impossible to prevent, how do players in HC survive and still clear all content? Like in Gauntlet HCSSF some of the hardest bosses were killed in about 40-50hrs. Hows that even possible, if the game was so unfair and all that sort of things?
The answere is: Those player have far more knowledge than you and I combined. Thats why. I tried it too and died at lvl70 to Trinity Shavronne in act9.
I was pissed off you better believe me that but I did learn a lot and that will benefit me in leagues to come.

You seem to read what I wrote but not understand it. Once again if you think 4500life and full res being not enough to not get burst down in split second in level 72 zone is supposed to be the correct state of the game - you simply crazy.

Devs giving defensive options to players is good. But those options become meaningless because they become mandatory because devs give monsters idiotic damage spikes. Instead of choice we get illusion of choice. I am done pretending. It does not take a great mind to just keep stacking defenses, it simply bores me.

What also bores me is the same old response to everyone who is voices their disdain for this state of things - "just get more defenses". Such "big brain" advice while completely missing the issue.
