Mapping in 3.14 is bonked
" Can agree. Many of friends struggling on whites and yellows and red maps are like non existant to them. I couldnt blame em, they came here to play game, for entertainment. Not to keep in mind that like scarab+mission+check influence+manage stones+sextant+chisel+allch(bound)+reroll im mods you cannot go+map 3to1 recipe, ask friends to go in party for better map drops, and only then go. This is not about entertainment at all at this level of detail need to sustain maps for good. |

I am not sure how this is possible. For now I am just alching and have no problem accessing tier 14-16 maps. Maybe the others are playing it wrong aka rushing to run the highest tier maps possible, get no drops and suddenly are left without backup.

" well in the white map/early yellow map territory map drops are still very rng heavy with having a low Atlas bonus ect, so some ppl definitely get bad rng streaks. Even if u juice it up as much as u can, u can still get nothing out of it, if u're just unlucky. |

No? White/yellow maps are extremely cheap. Just buy them from Zana and you'll never run out.

This game thrives on "want" and giving you tools to satisfy that want. You obviously want maps. That means the game is working. If they gave in to every want the players had, they wouldn't have any players left.

If your build is good enough, you can buy cheap high lvl unique maps that people hate to run. They sell much cheaper than regular maps.

" Hard to see when you dont even play it :P |

" u realize that doesn't counter my point, right? U can buy 50 maps from Zana and still end up getting nothing out of them with bad luck. Is it likely? No, but it's more likely if u buy 10-20 maps. Zana mostly sells only 2-3 higher maps and the rest is around T1-3, so if u're at T6+ u're not getting that many shots at that map range. Just because u didn't have such a streak yet, doesn't mean it doesn't happen to alot of ppl every league, bcz its still rng. I'm not one of them, so don't try to tell me how to build the atlas ect, just realize that it's a reality for many ppl every league. |

" If they're casual enough to 'struggle to sustain' white and yellow maps 14 days into a league, why aren't they entertained with slowly filling out their white and yellow map completion on the way to 100 atlas completion? I don't like trading for maps (I think I bought 2 this league) and got to 130 completion with 0 trouble. Sometimes that meant playing 7 tier 7 maps I've already completed to get a couple more T8s. It meant doing every Zana mission. It meant pulling maps from Alva temple, Heist, and Delve. (One temple gave 1 red map, another gave 7 - neither had the map room). And before red maps when I wasn't using chisels and sextants, I stockpiled about 500 chisels and 70/30/15 sextants + some scarabs including a winged cartography scarab that were ready to jam on my red map push. When did we lose sight of the idea that sometimes you might have to grind content in order to get to the destination you're looking for? More and more people seem to actually or act like they hate the journey. 'I want to be at the destination and if I can't get there with no friction, something is broken, bugged, or the devs are out of touch for disagreeing!'. Nonsense. It's exactly like Shags just said. The game doesn't exist to give you what you want, it exists to open multiple pathways to places you want to go, leaving you to navigate the pitfalls and obstacles along the way. They'd be left with very few players indeed if you created a fully decked-out character that started at level 100 and could choose the T18 layout of your choice with all the league adds you wanted sprinkled on top infinitely. It's about the journey. |
