Mapping in 3.14 is bonked

Just checking though... You do have T3 maps available on your Atlas... right?

Wat????

I've been buying T1 maps from Kirac and selling for T2 maps and alching them. Out of 4 maps in a row i got 1 T1 map drop...... Zana doesn't appear until you get to your first citadel... (Unless that changed? I wouldn't know)

Then I came here to see if I'm the only one........
I think they are meddling with the droprates behind the scenes, yesterday i dropped maps like crazy, around 3 - 6 equal tier or plus 1 per map. I was confused what was going on.
I am farming T12 and dont drop any T13... I put all my watchstones in Valdo's Rest, Lex Ejoris and Hamlet hopeful to drop T14, and the game have given to me T7...

So borring.

Getting out of white maps is pretty slow this league.
Just get out every T2 map you have and use Orb of Bindings on them.
Then just chain run them back to back.

Keep doing it and you'll start seeing T3, then it's just rinse and repeat.
I wouldn't suggest to selling 3 of the same maps for higher tier ones unless you're playing SSF.

Imo, once you get to T6 maps, meaning you drop your first T6, you should already be having a pretty large pool of T2, T3, T4 and maybe even T5 maps that you've already done.

Use Poemap.live and trade your completed maps for the ones you miss to progress your atlas. The secret to mapsustain, as always, is atlas completion. Once you get above 115/164 maps will start to feel okay.
When you get ~150+ you will start oversustaining maps and sell them.

Instead of blindly running the same map 10 times over, trade that map for 10 maps you haven't completed and your atlas progression will become much smoother.

Ive been playing almost every league since Perandus. It was never THIS bad.
bonk
Map sustain has been noticeably more sketchy this league than almost any other league I've played in. Alch, chisel, vaaling, sextants and scarabs when I have them and even with all that, I've gone streaks of like 5-6+ maps without seeing a SINGLE map drop. Trying to spawn Sirus for the first time was a massive hurdle for me and I've never experienced poor map sustain like that before. I pretty much had to break down and buy maps just to spawn sirus for the first time, and I've never had to do that.

Fortunately, it got *slightly* better after spawning sirus at awakening level 5 and beating him but even still, I'm investing in my red maps as much as I can and there's still times where I run multiple maps in a row without seeing another red map drop. I thought to myself that maybe some bad luck was hitting me for the first time but almost every single person I've mentioned the issue to has confirmed to me that they were also struggling with sustain, far more so than previous leagues.

I don't need a rundown of how the atlas works. I know how it works. You can be running it in the most optimal fashion but map drops are still pure rng, even though there are ways to improve your odds of dropping them...they still have to actually drop. Thank god I wasn't playing SSF this league. It took me multiple days to go from awakening level 4 to awakening level 5 because maps that were high enough tier to spawn 3 watchstone conqueror's simply weren't dropping. I've gotten past it now, but it was definitely frustrating me greatly for about 2 days or so.

Make sure u have a region with only 3 watchstones socketed, otherwise T13 maps can't drop. To hope for a lucky T14 drop instead of having a better chance of finding T13 maps isn't worth it. (made that mistake last league myself)
This is the first league ever for me that I struggled with white maps and I've been around for a bit. I got 2 white maps when I started mapping from campaign drops and they run out. If it wasn't for maps prophecy I would have zero maps. It put me off playing big time.
I AM MAD
ZAP!ZAP!ZAP! ME SOOO WIZZARD!
Ive been doing the leap frog method and now my atlas is sort of bricked. I am currently almost level 86.

1. Get to the four corners and spawn first conq.
2. Place first watchstone in valdo rest.
3. Run other three corners until conq.
4. Place two watchstones into Lex Proxima.
5. Run Valdo until four conq are killed.
6. Place three watchstones into Tirns end
7. Run Lex Proxima until four conq are killed. This is where I am stuck. ZERO, ABSOLUTE ZERO, NONE, NO LEX PROXIMA MAPS.

This method is meant to feed the next region you are supposed to run when you are spawning conqs. Running Valdo for the four conqs I received a lot of Valdo and other regions, ZERO lex proxima.

-I've run every Zana mission available and bought every map I can. She never sells Lex Proxima.
-Now, Zana has yet to offer a mission in the last 20 or 25 maps.
-I've run every adjacent map to get a Lex Proxima map (Pen (literally 10 times), Lair, Gardens, Arid Lake, Waste Pool, Armoury). Ive gone two deep and tried running Orchard to get more Arid Lake to get into Lex Proxima.
-Ive used Orb of Horizons on maps I dont need in the teir I do need and I keep getting Glennech and Haewark Hamlet.
-Ive sold 3x same map, and get any other region BUT lex proxima.

ZERO. LEX. PROXIMA.
ZERO ZANA MISSIONS

I do think my atlas is bricked. I dont have any Tier 8s in Glennech or Tirns to run.

This is probably the sole reason why around this time in the league I stop playing, because I cannot progress my atlas. Why is end game progression so heavily reliant on RNG? I must not have my streamer buff on because those guys are easily able to map sustain.

Ill give it another hour or two and then Im calling it quits. Atlas is bricked. I dont know what else to do. Hoping that mapping is changed in POE2. Otherwise, the hype will die after a while, and the game will settle into the same endgame RNG rut that it currently is in. I understand RNG for gear. I dont understand it when you are trying to go through endgame and hitting a wall you cannot move.

I played Beta. Back then ex slamming a map wasn't too uncommon.
This is definitely the same feeling.

I'm currently alching T1 maps. I can't even sustain T2 maps.......
That's not a far shot from ex slamming high tier maps....
