0.9.9 Information

@unsmith: Will ya stop complaining even before you tested on your own ?? This is gonna be the best ever feature to come, and yet you start to think negatively... no comments needed. Just experiment on your own, commenting a big feature as it is is plain unncessary and certainly a false behaviour.

I shouldn't be able to beta because I don't want a wipe? Yeah, that makes sense...

Yeah the purpose of a beta is to test things. How are we supposed to test any sort of end-game if it wipes every two weeks? Not everybody plays 16 hours a day and cheats with d2jsp. The longer the league lasts = the more gear I find = the more character builds I can play/test = more fun = less annoying = satisfied with the game = not immediately running to d3. Pompous nerd.

Um, what? I simply expressed a concern about something I read and now I'm being labeled a complainer? Jeez.

Of course I will test on my own once 9.9 drops. I'm simply stating that if dying "every time" is the norm, as the game's own creator put it, then we're going to have some issues in hardcore. I know the pure HC community is small, but we do exist.

I'm all for a challenge, just not a retardedly hard challenge. My concerns may be unfounded, but hey, isn't this why we participate in a feedback forum in the first place? I will certainly give my feedback on 9.9 if I'm finding it too hard to be fun.

Without a wipe the majority of people will just continue to play in the temporary end-game zone and will not be testing the actual game where, as is sounds, a lot has changed.

Wipe = more feedback on the balancing of item progression and increased difficulty at all stages.

Beta is not for your enjoyment, it is for testing the end product. Wipe = better testing, my vote is for wipe.

That you can purchase beta access right now currently suggests to me that the game has effectively already become a product. As such, I can understand the desire to not have a wipe, and don't think it's unreasonable to feel that way.

I don't care either way towards the wipe/no wipe, but I wouldn't hold it against someone who doesn't want one.

I was just about writing a longer post about my impressions of the game after my first playthrough (on normal diffuculty only, but there were still some hours of gaming invested ;)) summarising what i like and dislike (not much here TBH, just a few details, i love this game :P).

But since such great changes are really close, i think that i'll wait for the patch and make that post after i'll finish the noraml difficulty in 0.9.9 ;)

But anyway the game already looks awesoem (which doesn't mean that there is no space for improvements, so keep up the great work GGG) :D

EDIT: about the wipe: if there will be a wipe i can live with it, since as others have pointed out it might be good to get a clear image how much the changes influence gameplay.

People who make a purchase receive that exact value in microtransactions. *Closed* beta access is just a bonus. It's still a closed, beta.

I do agree with you in a sense, but nonetheless this has to continue to be treated as a closed beta that is purely for testing and feedback purposes. This is to ensure the best game possible. As well to not give ppl incorrect expectations about the current experience.

I have no idea where you're getting that from. I must be building my witch wrong because I have more trouble with a witch in normal than a non-AoF marauder in merciless.

hes talking about ice spear crit witches thats the other thing that destroys mobs so fast.
